iphone down to £169

Yep, they've got plenty in stock too. Bloke in the shop looked quite surprised to find a couple of us salivating at the door when they opened up babbling on about cheap iPhones. :D

simple piece of software that unlocks it for use with any simcard, also allows you to install 3rd party software

Basically describes everything. It means that it unlocks the phone to work on any network and even pay as you go. Jailbreak means that you can install user made applications that you cant normally do if the iPhone isn't jailbroken.

really, if anyone has the iPhone even on contract, they should jailbreak it.

I spoke to Carphone Warehouse and the 100 pound cashback only kicks in after the 4th month of signing up with O2.
So effectively you need to be on contract to take advantage, and if you jailbreak it, you effectively have to pay the full whack of 269.

(Sorry if this has been mentioned already).

You need can only get £100 back if you sign up to the O2 contract. And the iPhone is easily restorable back to its original state if you want the money back.

The £169 is available without on contract if you dont want it.

When you go into the O2 shop or CarphoneWarehouse shop, you just buy the iPhone and dont sign up in the shop. You need to do that at home. But, here is the special part, hardly anyone actually does. Rather, everyone just unlocks their iPhone and puts in whatever sim card they want. ;)

Just to clarify things for every one, this is 100% true. Any one can walk in to an O2 store or CPW today and pick up an iPhone for £169 without signing up to any tariffs.

It's exactly the same as it's awlays been, just that now you pay £169 instead of £269. There are no cash back deals in operation.

If you have already bought an iPhone in the last 14 days and still have your receipt then you are entitled to a a £100 refund.

Nice one, was it busy?

Not at all, there still haven't been any internal mails out on it yet.
