iphone down to £169

I enter my details and then it says "verifying pop account information"
and stays there for ages... anyone experienced this?

Leave it there for ages. It's checking whether it supports encryption. This is an annoyance on the phone that you can't create an account with manual settings from the off...

I can't play anything from bbc iplayer on mine :( everytime I try it says: error playing movie.

I've tried clearing the cache and I'm definately connected to my home wifi.

Same here I have had this for ages now, tried everything. Last resort is to restore but I cba :p

Noooo dont!

There is a fix!

I cant remember which thread its in.. but Rayomd posted instructions about how to get this fix onto installer.

Once you get it on, iPlayer works a treat.

I'm only getting like a day from my battery with heavy wifi use. Is that right?

Have you turned off SSH? It drains the battery to.

What I do to save battery is when not in the house turn off wifi, just turn it on when you need it and always keep SSH off until you need to SSH into your iPhone. Might get an extra day out of it

I get the SSL question and say "no" to it.
After a while it then asks the same question again...

Yea I wont be restoring it no chance lol :p

Is it the about:blank method you are talking about?

Methods I have tried so far are:

- Clearing cache, cookies etc
- going to about:blank and killing safari then clearing cache
- Reset network settings
- And other different combinations of these :p

try this

Go to installer from the home screen.

Go to 'sources' on the bottom right.

Press 'edit' on the top right, press 'add' on the top left.

Then it'll pop up with a box for adding a weblink, add

http://appledailytimes.com/installer

click ok and it'll refresh the resources. (all this has to be done with internet on)

Go to the Apple Daily Times secion in 'Install' and it'll be in there.

I used Pwnage on the weekend (updating my bro's iPhone to 1.1.4) and it was a nice change of pace.

ZiPhone may be the 1-stop-shop, but for the hassle, Pwnage comes in handy when restoring (as you say, pc-modd). It's worth a look if you've never tried it.

[disclaimer]I only use iPhone Dev Team apps when I absolutely have to..[/disclaimer]

has anyone had further problems once unlocked??

speaking on another forum, i've been told some have had problems with the battery not charging once the firmware is updated etc?

Had my iPhone for a few months now and never had any problems that could not be fixed with google, except the iPlayer just, fixed now thanks to raymond :)

Check the forums.

There's a "iPhone problem" thread appearing daily these days.

My advice is to read the sticky, the majority of problems are from people jumping in and not following the procedure in the right order.

i've looked through all that with the pwnage software etc. but with regards to an issue that has actually harmed the phone (like the battery not charging etc)
