Existing O2 customers

If you're already an O2 customer and have bought or upgraded your handset before 19 September (when the UK launch of the Apple iPhone was announced), you're in luck. You will be able to upgrade to an Apple iPhone without any extra contract charges.

If you have recently moved over to O2 (on or after 19 September), and want to switch to an Apple iPhone tariff, you'll have to pay £219 on top of the £260 Apple iPhone price to cancel your current subscription.

Would we still have to sign up to an 18 month contract? I migrated from a contract deal to one of their sim-only tarrifs.

Yeah EVH is US but from UK stockist, so only few days to wait.
Can't believe some people are paying £350-£375 for an unlocked US one.
I'm only buying one as I have to send my blackberry off for 3 weeks to get repaired, if I like the iPhone then I'll keep it, if not then I'll unlock it and sell on for the price I bought, no less then!

Finally left america, meant to arrive with me for wednesday, dunno going by that though.

Just noticed the guy i bought my iphone from on ebay is nolonger a registered user.

He's had positive feedback last few days from people buying iphones, just hope i dont get screwed here

I'm having a hard time deciding between an iPhone and an iPod Touch! I'd be getting an unlocked iPhone from the same place everyone else gets theirs, but I'm a bit worried about not being able to update it in the future :S Those that have an unlocked iPhone I presume know a thing or two about the updates, how easy would it be in the future to update and what are the chances of me permanently bricking it? Is it worth the hassle or should I just get an iPod Touch and a regular mobile? Whatever happens I'm gonna wait till the 9th just to see if they release any updates!

These 'unlocked' iPhones, can you continue to use it fully when sync with the Mac?

I mean registered with iTunes etc, so I can use it as a full ipod as well as a phone?

Ta.

Well I jailbroke my touch and it syncs up as normal i would suspect it would be the same for the iphone.
