I went to the Apple Store yesterday (Southampton) - boy was that packed with little kids messing around on the iPhones; I honestly didn't take much interest, as I've already got my iPod Touch and the iPhone (without MMS) is useless to me - and too expensive overall.

I do however like the stand/dock they provide with the iPhone tho :)

/off topic
I also never realised 24" iMac is so damn big! Seeing it in person was so different to pictures.

Yea, the dock with the iphone is nice to see, I couldn't remember if I read about it before I went down on Friday, but it was nice to see it in the box.

Whats even better, is the dual dock. Which again comes with the Apple Bluetooth headset!

Dock them both, and charges too! :)

The 24" iMac is indeed a beast, I wasn't fully ready for it when it arrived. It took me back at the size, but alas I'm used to it now and wouldn't swap it!

I'm confused about this - everything points to me being able to change my existing o2 contract to an iphone contract - Is this right? I really wouldn't want to end up paying for two contracts!

Played around with a mates today... awesome :D Kinda want one now but the contract stuff's putting me off.. he got his from the USA and is now on Vodafone.. are you allowed to 'unlock' it? Or can't we discuss it in here? :)

I will be getting one, but not until there is proper support fro exchange, active sync would be great. It will be used as my works phone. I do really like it but its just to big for a day to day phone IMO, plus flashing them around when your out and about at night is just asking for trouble.

Great for work though.

This may have been mentioned in here, but I'm not wading thru all these pages to find it, so could someone tell me, is buying an iPhone as easy as buying an iPod? For example, I go into the Apple store in Bluewater, grab the iPhone (and pay for it of course :) ) and walk out, no forms to fill in or any guff like that?

Also, slightly off topic, anyone know what the process is of cancelling your account with a non o2 provider (namely T-Mobile)? I'm still in contract and would obviously have to pay a fee... anyone have a ROUGH (very rough would be fine) idea of the cost of quiting pre contract end? And is this a pretty quick procedure... don't want to buy an iphone before I quit tmobile only to be stuck with 2 contracts!

Any help will be appreciated!

Yes for the 100th time. :o

Go in, buy it, walk out.

Monthly line rental up until your contract is due to expire, plus call fees for probably another month.

Does anyone know if when you purchase songs off iTunes on the phone if it goes straight onto your bill, or, if it comes out of your own iTunes account (as it does ask for the login details for the account when you activate)

iTunes account, same as the touch. :)

went and played with one today in local cpw (absolutely dead, not even students!) - it was surprisingly responsive (although I do wonder if it would reduce over time and with other stuff loaded), biggest issue for me is we don't have edge here so dog slow safari, and the fact that when I think about it I don't need a mobile internet browser, if I do I normally have my pda (does my sat nav) which does wifi. Combine with the fact that the tariffs really aren't beneficial to me (I use my phone as a phone ) and I can get a cheaper tariff with better minutes (more important to me). May get one if they come down in price and unlock it as I think it is maybe a better buy than a ipod touch.
