iphone!?

Can't wait for this myself, my contract should be up by then so I will most likely try and get it early on. Will replace my current iPod nicely along with my current phone.

Although a better camera on it would be nice (3MP+) as currently it isn't as good as the one on my phone.

Jeez now you are showing your spots! Why do people 'hate' or 'love' companies unconditionally then make arguments based purely on this - its so pointless to me.

lol, i never like apple because i had to use a mac in 1997 and it was the worst experience ever. It scared me bad :D

Anyway, its not the fact that i hate apple that i am laughing at the phone, its just that its old hat tech (to me it seems that anyway). People can have their views on the device and i have mine.

On a parting note, i also now have an iPhone...

When it gets released, i will be getting one. Its just what ive been waiting for. A good looking phone, with a good camera, Wifi, bags of storage, and good battery life. I can get rid of my iPod then.

lol:p

Its true the basic tech isnt new but the way it all comes together, that will just 'work' and combined with a huge screen is very new to the mobile industry. What I love about my ipod, is that it works so easily, never crashes and looks so great. And well thats what apple have done with the mobile. And who hasnt been waiting for this?? Windows Mobile and the latest symbian smartphones have so much wrong with them its not true! I am so so sick of mobiles crashing, being buggy, slow etc. Why the hell havent they got their acts together. Well they will have to now!:) No I dont know anyone that can possibly argue against this.

ok so its crashed a couple of times, but barely. I'd say it was as close to a flawless OS as you can get. At any rate compare it to the smartphone OS's - my god what a chasm.

The iphone may well be 3g for Europe...;) read earlier on in the thread. But that wasnt the point I was making.:)

Oh yeah I'm sure it did... but that doesn't mean Apple worked out how to make a phone - I mean they worked with a partner who did know how to make a phone. I suspect the Apple inputs are limited to OS, Apps, UI and ergonomics, that's more than enough to have kept them busy. The actual phone, the radio engineering will be been developed by a phone company... like Foxconn.

i am sorry to say this but you clearly dont know what you talking about! it might help if you do a little research into the company and the product before making stupid claims.... obviously an apple hater... you can tell by the tone..

wtf? I'd say it's more than likely, I wouldn't have thought Apple would have magically pulled a mobile chipset out of thin air?

Oh look, here's some research.

And btw, Hon Hai is Foxconn.

Hopefully not.

Apple have been in talks with Cisco for a couple of years, and the papers were delivered to Apple to sign before the show - so there must still be issues somewhere.

Cisco have to sue Apple to show they're defending their trademark, even if they don't intend to go through with it.

So - either the iPhone was so secret that Apple&Cisco couldn't co-ordinate everywhere to sort it out, or Apple have been prodding Cisco but are now hoping to just beat them in court - which is kinda risky and a bit bullyish, but ultimately they can call it whatever they like - I'm buying one. Well, work is :p

of course apple don't manufacture them all in house... that would be very strange... they did infact design them inhouse
