How does the TH8a shifter compare to the G27 shifter? I constantly miss gears with my G27 one so want to replace it?

Night and day. There's no comparison really, they aren't in the same league. I've owned both so I can speak from experience.

If you want to spend less then you could wait for the new Logitech separate shifter, but it's essentially the same as the G27 version but without any buttons or a D pad.

Plus you have the manual/sequential option with the TH8 that was taken away with the G27 from the G25.

Cheers. I almost bought one today but I'm gonna hold off for a while and persevere with the g27 shifterm

If you sign up before the end of the month then iRacing have an offer on for half price 12 months subscription, so $50. (Edit, that offer is for a re-sub only. So your have to sign up and then use that code, found on the home page)

Haven't re subbed in months. That offer on for old members also ? So basically i need to buy a full priced 1 month sub then I can get a year sub for half price ?

Not played Iracing in ages would like to get back into it. But with pedals that are still kinda broken I haven't been bothered in spending small fortunes on Iracing.
I do miss the forums though and the MX5. I would love to turn a few laps with the OCUK guys. Do you guys still hold the odd private server ?

Forgot I had this replay saved, can't believe I lost it at that section of Charlotte.

Didn't even get a 0 contact, although I think I can hear a hit.

Did a few races at the weekend and really enjoyed it. Got me wanting to upgrade my PC (its getting old) and house (not big enough to leave wheel and pedals setup all the time) sooner rather than later.

Made a couple of mistakes in the three races, one minor where no harm was done, and another where I missed my breaking point and hit someone, but overall I was happy with the three races.

I tend to have a couple of good and a couple of bad races and so my iRating hovers around 2200-2400 all the time.

I think I should actually conceded to overtakers more often. Fighting just ends up in them taking me out most of the time. It's mainly the drivers who have some pace but no race craft or patience. They all think they are Senna and see a gap and go for it.

I made it easy for two guys to get past me last night and one got disqualified for too many incidents and the other one I passed in the pit stops, probably because he'd been off a few times. He certainly had wheel arch damage when I let him by, so had already been in a few scrapes.

I knew I could count on the first guy to take himself, after I let him past he was fighting with the next car up the road and you tell it would end in tears. Sure enough he went off trying to pass, he nearly took me out after he rejoined and was very aggressive forging me to take to the grass. I just let him go and pitted early to get out of his way.

But all that still seems to go against the point of racing in the first place sometimes.

So I've been having some fun since I bought a year's sub in the summer sale.

Got my road D license at the start of this week by racing safe and not looking to do anything spectacular. I managed to finish P2 at Lime Rock in one race by just driving consistently and not crashing - although the race winner was nearly a minute ahead. Saw some idiotic driving from those who had already wrecked - who rejoined and then would wipe others out! I'm now looking at either doing Skip or SPF but I'll need to buy a few tracks. I've seen that Oulton, Spa and Bathurst are on the calander for the next 3 season so will probably pick those up.

Also had some fun in oval last night, again just played it safe at the start and stayed near the back of the field. After the inevitable big wreck - I'd find myself in the the top 8 and even managed a few overtakes. I'm now up to a SR of 2.82, so a couple of clean races and I'll be out of rookies there too. Need to work on getting faster but at the moment I think driving smart and surviving is key!

I'm really looking forward to getting back into this next week when I get my hands on some pedals again.

To the chap asking about an Obutto, it seemed like your decided to get one, have you ordered or are you still researching?

Nice one mate.

Concentrating on the Ovals myself for now. Have to say racing at Daytona if the Ford Fusion SS at 202MPH 2 inches from the guy in front is awesome, and completely nerve racking at the same time. Usually because on your inside, or outside you have someone going at the same speed 6 inches away from you..

Class D myself, but still cannot figure out what route I want to take to get to C and above. Think I might get my 4.0 in D driving Charlotte Street Stock then go and do my MPR for C.

Hi Muska, will order the Obutto when I get back from hols next week. Very close to pulling the trigger on a Fanatec CSW V2 setup, it's going to be an expensive week!

So I'm now out of rookie in Ovals - got caught up in a big wreck which knocked me down a few SR but a couple of clean races and I was promoted.

Treated myself to some new pedals - CSR Elites from the stock DFGT and boy what a difference! Was just practicing with the Skippy at Donnignton last night and the difference is night and day. I'm pretty slow in at the moment but the Skip is great fun to drive.

I've also seen that Rockingham is going to be added - would love to see a NGTC spec car added aswell

Well done on the promotion.

The BTTC Honda Civic has been on the cards for a while, but apparently they are having trouble getting the data they need to finish it.

Whether or not they'll finish it or start a completely new BTTC car is anyone's guess.

Did a GT3 race last night at Watkins Glen, started 21st and finished 11th. Avoiding trouble and keeping it in the black stuff really pays off.

It's 3.00 now I think I did my oval one yesterday when I hit 3.00, you should show as a D license already. No idea what to race next in oval, I want to race the trucks eventually but not sure what to do to get to C

Nah, still 4.00 from D to C Rob.

I already had the Ford Fusion SS, so I bought south boston, and did 3 races and 1 time trial to get my MPR.

SR is sitting at 3.75, so a couple of races, probably do it rookie style at USA and that will get me my C.

Looking to go to one of the fixed oval series, prefer the long track over the short tracks. Trucks is an option for me als Rob, but I think they have more short tracks in the season.
