iRacing

Ran my first race in years at Iracing last night - so much has changed since I last logged in. I tried to view the replay of my race after it has finished, but couldn't find it anywhere - thought it would be attached to the results. I now suspect I should have saved it manually - is there anywhere I could get copy of it.

Sadly you have to save the replay before you exit the race. I think there is an option to do this automatically

Unless someone else happens to have the replay file you won't be able to get it sadly

I spent some of the weekend playing Forza 6 and I can safely say I won't be doing it again.

There's something no quite right about the car handling and physics, or at least they feel inconsistent. I had some serious bouts of game rage when the basically the MX5 can't go around any corner at any speed in second gear, without loosing the back end.

I tried it for a couple of hours last month with the Fanatec. I was racing a BTCC series over at TORA so ran round Road Atlanta my usual FWD Avensis. Was hoping that the FFB on the wheel would help. Unfortunately not. The knife edge handling was still there - Grip, Grip, Grip, No Grip, Crash! The FFB was a complete disappointment after the PC titles.

Then there's the AI which does all the douche bag stuff that real drivers so online. Why? Because that's what the AI is based on. They Driveatar system uses driving lines and behaviour from online races. So the only way for the AI not to be constantly trying to kill you is to have it on unbeatable. Which it does by cheating.

I don't tend to play single player, just jump online with real douchebags. I didn't find it that bad ... then again I've got a friends list full of people who used to league race Forza 3/4/5 so they're pretty well behaved. The rubber banding was pretty bad at first though.

Power of the cloud, drink the Beardy Dan Kool Aid! ;)

Add all the little niggles, like unskippable animations of your car entering then pits every time you restart a race. Being forced to basically play the demo at the beginning, when you've actually played the demo and it's still on the machine.

Typical Forza. You get used to it!

Oh dear, just bought COTA for the last week of GT3, man I forgot how much I hate thiat track. Thought it was bad in F1 2015 etc, it's murder driving a lumpy great big GT3 around it...

I won't be getting used to it.

Sold the game today and the CSL wheel rim is already on eBay.

Your description of the knife edge handling was spot on.

After playing a Forza game for the first time and recently completing Halo 1 and Gears of War 1. I find it hard to believe any of these franchises have lasted so long.

Mostly utter pish.

The knife edge physics are a Xbox One Forza trait. It was there in Forza 5 and 6 is similar but with the rough edges removed.

I played the 360 titles extensively. Best of the bunch is Forza 4 - with sim steering enabled intrinsically feels right to me, and importantly it's got that x-factor that's brings me back to it, which is missing from 5/6. IMO it's the best of the series. Unfortunately no-one is running online events with it any longer. That said, the online is still fully functional for all the 360 titles which is a refreshing change from some games companies.

Apparently Forza 6 is coming to PC now and will be free to play, well a slimmed down version of it.

So we'll get 25% of the current game. That's only 50% of the content so they can sell us the rest of it as overpriced car and track packs.

In other news today .. I've got a wobbly Fanatec wheel. :(

Both rims will rock from side to side when installed, so looks like a wheel base problem. Just opened a support case and sent them a video.

Two weeks until the BSR Pro series starts again, luckily I've been procrastinating on selling the G27.

That's not good.

How long have you had it?

Just had my best race ever in the star Mazda.

Where did the downforce come from in that car? It handles like it is on rails now!! Wish I had driven it more this last season.

Getting close to 2000 for road now and only .2 off B4.0 licence!

Hopefully can get above 4 before the week is about and a couple of hundred ir should see me have a good season.

My problem is I don't concentrate on one car over the season, I swap multiple times throughout the season. Think the Audi is going to keep me in GT3, and hopefully the FR in single seaters.

Wheel is sorted. Loose allen bolts between the hub the rim attaches to and the CSW base. Two undone, one loose, two OK.

Got the same suggestion from a BSR colleague on Facebook and shortly afterwards from Fanatec support via email.
