iRacing

I'm tempted I think I'm still raging from Zolder where I got nailed on the pace lap and the race after I got taken out after passing someone!

The participation is great and I do like driving the cars, maybe I'll try a couple of races and see how it goes

Just about to give GT6 a go with the Fanatec kit as I've not tried it since upgraded last November. If it's any good I might set the triple screens back up again.

Just installed Forza 6 on the Xbox One despite having it since November last year. That could be my weekend sorted.

I think iRacing can blow me until next season now. I'll see how the new GT3 card and maybe the Renault are.

Not enjoying Charlotte Roadway after 2 races so moving onto Bathurst in prep for next and final week of skippy season.

Turned first few laps ever last night and wow, what a track!

Anyone up for a hosted session Bathurst with Skippies over the weekend?

I love Bathurst too, such a good track with many blind faith corners going up the mountain when learning it in a GT car!

I would be up for a hosted session as long as it's not Sunday (working) or clashes with the Rugby on Saturday! :)

@marketR - I know what you mean, having turned a few laps - the upper part of the mountain is going to be a nightmare especially when considering being part of a chaotic train of ~1300 ir racers crashing through.

I'm thinking my game plan will go something like this - don't qualify, start at back, stay 30 seconds behind back of pack for majority of race, leaving them to wipe each other out, stroll through to a respectable position at end. Thoughts?

Thanks Barmy.

@Muska - what time is good for you on Sat, I see there are 2 rugby fixtures? Not been following the 6 nations, waiting for Scotland (me) vs France (the Mrs)

Never hosted a session before, happy to give it a try unless you are happy to?

It's relatively straight forward, I'm happy to walk you through it if you like :)

The first game starts at 14:25 so let's say about 11 - 2pm ? Somewhere around there work for everyone?

That works for me Muska. Great if you can give me the dummies guide walkthrough on hosting so Im self sufficient and capable going forward. Perhaps around 11:00 GMT we hook up on teamspeak or similar and get it going?

What do you think for the format to make use of the 3 hours - long practice and 1 race, or two seperate race sessions, given that Howler can join ~12:30?

Just been practicing last 2 hours. My goodness, lost count of times exited to pit to restart after damage, but finally managed to post a 2:35.8. I know with more practice I can shave a few seconds from that. So satisfying when you get the mountain right. Trick is to get it consistent, damage free!

Cant imagine what its like in a superior car. And with testing Ive had it all to myself - in lower splits the mountain must be pure carnage, definately going to have to work out a strategy for next week but sure that involves hanging at the back and letting the lemmings throw themselves off the cliff!

Yes, that should be fine, I'm happy with TS (do you still have the details from last time?) Or the OCUK Discord, details at the top of this section of the forum :)

I'll apologise now though if I'm not there as I have a house viewing at 11:30 and I'm trying to arrange another for today also. I'll drop a message here if I won't be there.

EDIT* I should be back for about 12:30
