F2.0 is a blast to drive, love the way it handles even with the default setups

Just did a hosted race a Spa, was good. Like a very fast better handling skip!

Has the schedule or license class been confirmed for the FR next season?

D 4.0 or higher

Just took the Audi out on Nords, it's ok, feels like BMW GT3 car really.

I managed one clean lap out of three attempts and clocked a 6:41.7 with base setup and 14 gallons of fuel. I don't know if the BMW has changed in the new build but the Audi seemed less prone to oversteer than the BMW of last season.

FR 2.0 is really good fun, the new Mazda is decent as well. Same problem with Fanaleds as barmyllama.

@cuffylad - FR 2.0 is C-class - it's on the published schedule from a couple of weeks ago.

I've turned DX11 off. It's doing weird stuff. A bubble alert from Mumble caused it to dump me to the desktop mid-race with iRacing minimised. On the bright side, the frame rate at the 'ring appears to be much more stable in DX11.

Still takes 3min 15sec to load the Nords.

Less stutter around the pits but I still notice the frame drops despite being close to 100 fps in that area. Also noticed a couple of hitches as I went around. I don't know if that was caused by someone joining the server as I have notifications for that off.

Lasted 1 lap in the FR2 at brands hatch. Pushed far too hard at corner 1 and lost it on the gravel. That car is going to be awesome though.

DX11 is a huge jump up in performance, for me anyway!

Oh, fireworks :)

The FR2.0 is great fun to drive, although I'm struggling with the brakes. It's tricky to stamp on the pedal and then judge how to release it to maintain threshold braking on turn in when using potentiometer pedals.

I love the AMG GT3, the first GT3 car I actually like driving. Managed a 22.9 around Nords, but there were a few wobbles so I'm pretty sure I could get sub 6:20. Looking forward to trying again this evening anyway :)

DX11 seems to have solved all my stuttering problems, plus the updated tyre sounds and new dirt textures on the tyres when you go off track are great

I actually really like the brakes in the FR2.0, I feel like I can hit them hard and late and still have control for the corner. I think the nixim mod helps with that though

Running Brands Hatch last night was great fun, you can carry so much speed through the fast corners

I think I just need a lot more practice :D I've spent the last 3 years driving sim tin-tops, so having a brake pedal you can abuse is taking some getting used to.

Quick note to anyone running triples on an nVidia card: Don't update to 364.47 drivers!. I did it already and I'm in a world of pain trying to rollback the driver to get everything working properly again.

This driver is a mess; random BSODs, mouse pointer disappearing on one screen, driver crash notifications in the system tray...

I've only had a quick try of the Audi & Merc so far (@spa)

What a huge increase in performance I'm seeing with DX11!! :D with everything maxed there are no more problem corners at spa and my fps never drops below 130 all around the track! Well done iRacing!

Personally I don't thing the Audi sounds are a patch on Asset to Corsa but they're definitely better than some older cars. I'm looking forward to trying the Renault & MX5, but The Division came out the same day so I'll be back later in the week!

PS, thanks for the heads up on the driver's!

Just cant get to grips with the FR2.0.. I'm seconds off the pace at Spa according to some times posted in the forum. I'm pretty average, infact I'm pretty poor but not 2.5 seconds poor!

Default weather at Spa with 30% track usage and i'm running a 2.21.1.

How do you find the Merc Muska?

Can you compare it to the BMW at all?

I only did about 6 laps with the baseline but it felt more stable than the BMW to me, more solid if that makes sense. It still has some understeer but that is probably down to the setup. It felt like a good car for an endurance race, like it would be predictable over looking distance.

Great, now I NEED to buy it :)

Cheers man.

So how are you guys finding the new build? Running in DX11 mode? Joined an FR2.0 practice session at Donnington last night, everything was going fine, but I experienced a single mother of all stutters, where it was like 1 frame per second, that lasted 4/5 seconds, then nothing after that. In season 2 might well revert to DX9 whilst they resolve issues. But it does look promising.

Will you be racing any of the new cars in season 2? Want to like the FR2.0, but in its baseline setup its almost too easy to drive, thats how it feels for me. I would like a bit more character. Im sure it cannot be as easy to drive the real thing.

I think I will continue to run the skippy for season 2, as I have still a lot to learn regarding racecraft. I will also use it as an opportunity to switch over to left foot braking, practicing in a car and tracks I know to get that muscle memory. Also enjoy using my HE seq so much I dont think I. Ready to revert back to paddles.

I'd like to race the FR2.0 but I don't think I have enough speed with it as I've not quite got the knack of braking down yet. I might actually try GT3 as I'm really loving the AMG. I'll be sticking with GT1 whatever happens though. I was really looking forward to the planned Classic Sportscar Series (which would have been HPD + Aston/Corvette multiclass) but the proposal got canned for some reason :(
