I could see it happening in front of me from the very start, I hit the rev limiter in 3rd and came off the gas before the entry of Eu Rogue, then the smoke appeared on the horizon :)

Same here, I was only .2 off the quickest guy in the race. 5th split though, but all of us were within 100 points or so of each others IR.

10inc points though and lost .29 of my brand new A licence :(, hate spa for the off tracks.

I don't know why people insist on going 2 wide up Eau Rouge. Just back of and get the draft on the straight!

Some fine accident avoidance there MarkeR!

They all think they are Mark Webber. For me there's one line through there and that's it. I lost count the amount of times I said the same thing as you when then Skippy raced there last season.

Completely agree. You want to be behind going up Eau Rouge due to the massive draft. Then passing in to Les Combes is relatively straightforward no matter which side of the road you've got. Just make sure you know and trust the guy you're racing if you try and go round the outside for the first right-hander.

It's also a good reason not to pass at the La Source hairpin unless it's the last lap and you're racing in the classic pits configuration.

I've also heard Max Verstappens name mentioned as numpties take each other out going two wide through Blancimont.

Did my first FR2.0 race last night, as expected loads of cars wiped out on Eau Rouge then probably another 5 or 6 by the time I got halfway round the lap

8 splits though, I'm surprised just how popular this series is. I suspect it will dilute a little bit as the weeks go on and the novelty wears off

I'm hoping that maybe the incidents will calm down as well, I think Spa encourages people to try and win on lap 1 at Eau Rouge and divebomb because there are long straights followed by heavy braking zones

I'm done racing this week. Sebring and Spa, probably two of the worst tracks to race on when new cars are available!
Gained about 70 IR and lost 30SR. Will wait until decent tracks are back for both GT3 and FR2..

FR 2.0 needs to be a higher licence.

The standard of driving is about the same as Rookies.

I shouldn't be able to start 9th, loose 6-7 places at the start because I had the pit limiter on (doh!) and finish 4th. I think I only made genuine passes on 2 cars.

Agreed, it needs to be a C or B licence. Too many idiots, too many Sennas too many people who haven't practiced asking how much fuel for the race after qualy!

Just think, it's Zolder next week, oh me poor SR :(

1st race, wiped out at Eau Rouge.
2nd race, managed to avoid 3 accidents before Les Combes and finish 4th.
3rd race, wiped out at Eau Rouge.

A lot of these drivers can't even exit the pits on cold tyres without loosing it. And as you say, the request for fuel required is a joke. I don't know who's worst, the drivers that ask or the drivers that tell them.

Zandvoort next week, a track I enjoy a lot.

Week 4 is Monza, oh dear.

Thought it was Zolder, but you're corret. Never raced there before, think I might spend the next few nights trying to build a setup.

Week 4 at Monza, bring it on, I got two races done in week 13 there, absolutely on it both times. The track is made for the FR2...

Kinda off topic, but just ordered my GT Omega Pro Rig with the RS9 seat, arranged to buy 3 x 27inch Samsung monitors! Now just need a second PC for the rig and my garage is all set up :)

Nice one.

Post some pictures when you're all set up.

I said oh dear for Monza for the inevitable turn one pile ups.

I love Monza both in sims and for real, it's on my bucket list of tracks to go to an F1 GP.

Just done my first race with the Formula Renault, and it wasn't pretty, mostly just my driving though :p

Messed up Qualifying, 1x's on both laps so back of the grid, which I wasn't too upset about as was thinking about a pit lane start anyway. In the end the guy one place further back was really slow (presumably intentionally) off the line so I went into Eau Rouge etc in second to last, and basically stayed there with no crashes happening for the first half of the lap before something went wrong.

In the chicane after Pouhon the car 2 ahead of me punted the guy ahead of him and turned him around, I saw and slowed next thing I know the one guy behind me is flying pretty much over my car, surprisingly we were both still pointing the right way and the car seemed mostly drivable, at first at least...

First showed some issues in Blanchimont, usually easy flat but it stepped out twice, surprised I held it but something quite wrong at the back. Get to Eau Rouge and it steps out again at the top, high speed left handers are a problem it seems. Try to struggle around but just rack up another 4-5 1x's in a couple of laps for my efforts and lapping in the 23/24's iirc, so I pit.

30 seconds later I'm released, I get a 1x in the first chicane cause I'm an idiot but otherwise the car seems good, start pressing on and sure enough hit the low 20's on the first flying lap and 19's second one, best overall was a 19.5 which was the 4th fastest by lap time, so what could've been. Did however manage to pick up another 1x or so and a spin in the chicane after Pouhon, even though my race was done I was still pushing myself for lap time hence the mistakes.

All in 13x which is terrible, but pace is much improved and I think if I didn't have the accident I probably would've been around 4-6x at most based on the second half of the race. Will do a couple more races tomorrow and hopefully do a better job, especially in Qualifying :p

After all the nonsense at Spa this week and losing a shed load of IR and SR, I decided to try my luck with the new Mazda MX5.
As you know it can be a wreckfest normally, Summit Point Full, started 6th, finished 2nd with a 1x for a stupid off track!
Best race all week!

Second race there, and probably one of the best races I have been involved in, finished 5th! Myself, 4th and 6th were constantly swapping places from lap 2. Great clean racing until the very end!

Seriously give it a try before it leaves summit point!

Just finished another FR2.0 race, I think the crashing has calmed down a bit even though there were still 8 splits but maybe a lot of the stupid drivers have given up by now

Good accident avoidance at the start of your video Howler!

I was testing this car at Spa earlier, I really like it, it gives great feedback and like all the recently released cars they're much better than some of the older ones that now feel a bit souless by comparison.

Just about gained all my IR back after just 4 races in the new mx5 at summit point. Still down about 1.2 SR though which I hate as I like to think of myself as a competent driver.

Seriously guys, try the new mx5 it rocks. Lime Rock next week, so plenty of splits. The level of driving is actually pretty good, never been knocked off or taken out yet!

Also, what card can drive 3x 1080 monitors? I'm using a 970 at the moment to drive 3440x1440 everything maxed out.
A 970 should cover it I think, right?
