Is China on to something?

Communist regime in purging a country of dissidents shocker? at least they aren't committing genocide against them... for now... or are they? who knows?

Is it just Muslims who are being snatched off the street for "re-education" or anyone with a low 'Social Credit Score'?

BBC News has surprisingly just aired a documentary on the 're-education camps', the journalist was basically harassed and stalked by authorities for doing so. It looks like China is going full on totalitarian tbh, scary stuff what with their social credit score system and facial recognition surveillance state.

edit: he tried to visit another camp at the end and they put up all road blocks claiming roadworks.

Theyre the "wrong" type of muslims, id imagine if they were all sunni, things might be different.

China has always fostered strong links with Iran. China needs oil and Iran acts the eyes and ears in the gulf. With Russia displacing Iranian oil.. i suspect iran will favour less.

China has it’s defines system, since snowdon they got all concerned with the US visibility into the state. Hence they immediately went to improving the intelligence and sensing. The automation of their social management (ie the points system) is simply technology enabling sensing and enforcing compliance.
Not a fan of enforcing fine detail, kind of like Boris’ & the tory ideal state..

They're not exactly silent, middle Eastern and African countries have publicly praised China's human rights policies as well as actually deported Ugyurs to China! (Saudi, Egypt, etc.)

All appears to stem from an increase in the outflow of Ugyurs studying abroad, apparently this worried China (potential future threat, supposedly) so they began contacting governments to intervene (eg. Egypt being told they accepted students without the Chinese government approval etc.), starting the ball rolling...

China has paid for this "loyalty" from countries in one form or another.
