Is it time to sack Wenger?

The one thing I do wonder about Wenger is what he'll do in the summer and I go back to the signing of Arteta when I say this, it obviously looked like a desperation signing but it's turned out to be a very good bit of business so what does Wenger do this summer? Does he keep Arteta in there or does he a year on look for the long term replacements for Fabregas and Nasri? Then there's the long term problems in defence that still need to be addressed because apart from Sagna, Vermaelen & Koscielny Arsenal are still lacking there also.

Probably time to move the likes of Chamakh & Arshavin on as well

Not sure who we should bring in, in terms of names but my transfers out from the first team would be:

Goalkeepers:
Almunia
Mannone

Defense:
Gibbs
Djourou
Squillaci

Midfield:
Diaby
Arshavin
Rosicky
Denilson

Attack:
Walcott
Chamakh

Thing is, Arshavin would be a decent player for us if Wenger would just put him behind the strikers and give him free reign to do whatever he wants. He's a creative player, good passer and good shot with both feet there's no reason why at 30 years old he can't just play where he's effective instead of putting him on the goddamn left wing where he doesn't have the pace or the work rate to make a blind bit of difference to games. He's a great passer but he's stuck on the wing where his options are severely limited. It's absolutely ridiculous.

We need to switch to a system with two strikers, we need to get rid of the dead wood sucking the wages out of the club and we need to start playing effective football. I don't care if we don't keep the ball on the ground for 90% of the game, I'd rather see us win matches by playing poorly, than lose matches and drop untold amounts of points over the season for a system that our players on the whole aren't suited to.

look at liverpool they spent a lot of money in the last 3 seasons and are still useless, it could be a lot worse and arsenal have barely spent a penny, my only criticism of arsene is he doesn't spend enough money we all know arsenal have money to spend and he should use it.

Another great example of how awsome Wenger is as a manager. take of four best player for our worse inform player. rightly booed IMO. evem RVP was moaning at wenger,

daft decision. My fear is that the board wont sack him if we do not reach top 4 but instead wait till its too late where we become a mid table feeder club.

If we kicked him out at that time, no top manager or player would ever join us and we will be back to square one. It will take us another 6+ years to reach o the top 4 again with mediacore managers and players playing for us.

Dark days but i told u blickered fans that Wenger HAD to go years ago! Had he got the sack 2-3 years ago, we could have brought in a quality manager like Frank rickard, Anchelloti or even AVB and we would have been better off.

this club needs a new manager, new ideas and a suger daddy owner to take over the club seeing as the current crop on the board do not want to spend a single penny.

RVP will leave this summer with chamack being our main striker :( and in the following season wilshere and chambalin will leave. Basically any arsenal player who shines and steps up to the next level will leave us as like many players around the world, they want to progress in there career and once you reach "world class" status, you want to win a few trophies mate and Arsenal is no longer a club that will offer that.

lol @ anyone moaning about Wenger.

Arsenal is a shining example of how to actually run a football club properly.

Anyone who continually moans about the lack of success is mentally challenged.

Only Barcelona have stopped Arsenal from being European Champions. Probably more than once in all honesty, despite just meeting them in the final once.

All the Arsenal fans bitching about Wenger are not true supporters IMO, as they just want the club to sell out like Man City.

Great.

Arsenal is one of the few clubs I can think of that actually has any integrity. Thats worth more than any arab with wads of cash.

I love how this thread gets bumped every time Arsenal lose. Usually by the ultra-fickle 'jonneymendoza', no less.

Hilarious.

Whats money got to do with Wenger not buying Any sort of full back seeing as we have none at the moment?

Whats money got to do with Wenger subbing our best player chambalin for our worse inform player ashavin?

Whats money got to do with how crap our defence have been for he past 6+ years leaking easy goals from set pieces and defencive errors?

Many of the reasons why we are crap at the moment is due to wenger. not to with money.

We dont need a world class full back to help us defensively and we dont need world class defenders to know how to defend set pieces. So money is not the issue as pointed out by me and DM in here if you even bothered to read any of the posts in this thread:rolleyes:

You are crap becuase you have a new squad that needs time to gel, after selling players to help balance the books.

Wait until next season before you can comment.

You dont see Chelsea fans crying about AVB just because they are a few points down and not playing that well either.

This is AVB's first season at chelsea, Wenger has been crap for 6+ seasons. big difference mate.

Also, many chelsea fans were questioning AVB before!

New squad? We only have about 3-4 new players. its not a whole new squad we have! And we only lost 3 players, clichy, nasri and fabregas.

Excuses after excuses

Chamberlain
Arshavin

Honestly I'm not sure how you expect your 'points' to be taken seriously when you can't even spell the names of your own players.

Wenger will not get sacked unless he consistently fails to get into the top 4.

I would say you are looking at at least another 3 seasons with him in charge.

Who can do better?

Alex F still makes mistakes at Manu, nobody is perfect.

I reckon Arsene should get Torres on the cheap for £15-£20Million or so.

Think Arsenals style would suit him to a tee.

Well we had options before, Anchelloti and AVB but both taken now. Frank rikcard maybe an option but the main issue is this.

the longer we take sacking wenger, the harder it is to get a replacement. what top manager would manage a mid table feeder club?

Yes fergie makes mistakes but united still win stuff with him. still consistently fighting for top honours

I honestly think Arsenal are too big to be a mid table feeder club.

Sure they cannot prevent the money grabbing morons flocking to ManCity, but who would want the Tevez types in their team anyway?

I'd love to be an Arsenal fan, at least you can walk around with your head held high with regards to how you play the game and the proper way in which the club runs its business.

I'm still not quite sure why you're saying Arsenal are mid table. You're currently 5th, there are a few more teams than 9/10 teams. There's plenty of the season left as well.

Yes i know but we are only one point ahead of liverpool who are 7th so not far from being in the mid position of the table.

Do we honestly need to wait until we do become a mid table team before we get rid of wenger?

If we do, what top manager and player would ever want to join us? And if we are not a feeder club then why has Nasri and fabregas left us to pursue trophies then?
