Is it time to sack Wenger?

Even so, when he has played in a 4-4-2 he has still been dog **** even when we had Ronaldo and Rooney running off him.

I thought he played well at the weekend and has done many times in the past, we don't have a single player who is better at receiving the ball under pressure, controlling it closely then playing in a clever pass to a team mate. It's when we try and use him as a target man on his own that things fall apart.

Sell RVP to Juve and get Buffon in...straight swap simple....RVP as much as i love him, he hasnt given us a full season since hes been with us.

Although id rather keep him and sell Edu and Vela and get Buffon in but rumours im hearing is that Buffon is being offered to Arsenal for RVP.
Selling RvP is as stupid as sacking Wenger. True, he has not featured in a season withought being plagued by injury. But he is such an integral part of the team now - not just for goals but in terms of teamplay. We work the ball into the box and create more chances with him and Fabregas playing. That, plus his sublime technique and power - it would be very difficult to find a replacement especially after spending so many years on improving his game.

Yep, swapping RVP for an aging goalkeeper is a stupid idea, Even though Buffon is supposedly one of the worlds best. Apparently Arsene Wenger pulled out of signing Igor Akinfeev at the very last minute in January, there's a link somewhere so I'll have to find it later.

I love RVP though, he can pass, he can shoot with either foot, he's good in the air, he's got pace and he's a master of the dead ball. When Utd were screwed on the goalkeeper front and only had Foster and Kuszczak would they have dreamed of swapping Rooney for a world class keeper? Probably not, I know the situation is silghtly different with them having VDS but the point still remains. Despite the injuries, Robin is our best forward at the club and I wouldn't dream of selling him. It goes to show how good he is that he's been out for nearly the entire season and has still outscored players who've played the whole season. Also, Ivan Gazidis has said in a conference that Arsenal will be having a thorough investigation of the club and they are not blind as to where the weaknesses lie. Not only that but there is allegedly going to be a change of medical personnel.

I think we should keep RVP, but can we all at least chip in and buy him a new set of legs? I'm sure we can get that crazy placenta doctor to graft them on, she's into **** like that.

Players like RvP and Fabregas are irreplaceable, would be mental to sell either

Also, quite annoyed at the Akinfeev talk, I really haven't rated him recently

No one is irreplaceable other than Messi or Ronaldo lol.

Anyhow its just a rumour i heard that Juve wants RVP for Buffon...and Buffon isnt that old compared to Cech or Van der Sar, whos close to 40 now but still is regarded as a world class goalkeeper.

Anyhow i just hope that Wenger addresses our weaknesses ie goalkeeper and some decent defenders...if we have Silvestre playing next season and starting due to injuries then i swear ill slit my throat. Also i read that its pretty certain that Gallas is on his way out because Wenger wont give him a 2 yr deal:(...big big mistake in my eyes to let him go as its hard to find players of his calibre and experience.

Trust me, on Arsenal's budget, RvP and Fabregas are irreplaceable. Fabregas is irreplaceable in any terms though, it's not lie Xavi will ever be for sale and besides him there's nobody better

For Buffon I'd guess £15m? If so, get him in instantly

They are for Arsenal. Not even Arsene would be able to find someone to fill Fab's boots.

Cech is 28

Van Der Sar needs replacing too.

Well of course for Arsenal they are irreplaceable...mind you Ramsey was being groomed as a future replacement for Fabregas but after breaking his leg...who knows how good he will be or if he will ever show the form he had before breaking his leg.

Fact is we are resigned to losing Fabregas at some point but bumping his wages to £110k a week plus a £3mill golden handshake will at least mean we have him around for another season or 2.

Didnt realise Cech was only 28...thought he was in his 30's now....but point i was making was that VDS is near 40 whereas someone said Buffon is aging...of course he is but still regarded as world class though....still wouldnt mind seeing him at Arsenal...anyone better than Almunia and Flappy :p

Come on you spurs

Why don't you go make another thread with all the great Spurs managers of recent times?

Hmm let's see... Martin LOL, Juande Ramos and Jacques Santini. Hardly a who's who of football is it? :p

Tbf I think that Fab is better than Xavi but some of the Barca bumlickers on here would say different. The last few games that 've watched Xavi play he's been rubbish throughout, and this is when he's surrouned by players who can give him an armchair ride throughout the entire game. No doubt he's one of the worlds best midfielders, but personally I think that Fabregas is better, hasn't he outscored and out assissted Xavi this season as well? And as much as I'd like to see Buffon playing for us I don't think it will happen. He's a massive name and I don't think Wenger will go for a huge name, I think the biggest we've had in recent years is Andrei Arshavin and even then half the country didn't really know who he was.

Don't forget Christian Gross!

As for Buffon, he's not too old; 32 is fine for a goalkeeper, that's at least 5 good seasons right there. However, the reason Juve are keen to swap him for RVP is Buffon's form in the last season and a half has been pretty poor; I mean they conceded more goals in this campaign than a team that got relegated!! Plus Buffon is hardly the kind of keeper that we want... He has a reputation as a bit of a flapper himself, world class shot stopper in his prime, no doubt, but he's got a-bit-of-the-barthez-about-him :D

I thought that Buffon was older than that, seems to have been around forever! Personally I'd have liked to see Robert Enke brought over, he was only 32 as well, great goalkeeper until he killed himself. :(

Targets that I'd go for considering Wenger's youth policy would probably be Rene Adler, Sergio Romero, Manuel Neuer and Gullermo Ochoa. All of those are good young keepers but their clubs would probably need to be given a fair chunk in regards to transfer price.
