Roffles...pride of England...get the **** out of here seriously...id consider Utd and Chelski more pride of England than the Spuds.

So you're saying that Spurs are more the pride of England than Arsenal then? ;)

Football's a global business now! It's archaic to even hold any resentment over a footballer's nationality

I kinda gave up on football several years back, at the time when Real Madrid were fielding Woodgate, Owen, Beckham and Macca. Arsenal had no British players... I followed Real that year :(

i was thinking of making a thread with all the uk players weve got, it would take me a while.

It would be quicker to write how many arsenal have :D

Spurs pride of England

Judge players on skill, not on passports. And by the way, we have a LOT of English and British players in our reserves and in the academy, so hush up, especially when your best players are a Croat and a Welshman.

The only way you can "one up" us Arsenal supporters is by apparently saying you have a vast amount of British players whereas we've got none? Firstly, do your homework, secondly look what your apparent huge array of English talent has given you. When's the last time you won the league? When's the last time you won the FA Cup? When's the last time you qualified for the Champions League 13 years in a row?

Now now boys play nice....and Spuds fans please go do one...make a thread on if the Spuds will qualify for the group stages of the CL:p:D

He's just trolling but just incase..

Spurs pride of England

You're not making much sense, but then opposition fans who berate Arsenal for that usually don't. You also mention the UK, then that 'Spurs [are the] pride of England'? You do know there isn't a UK international team? So in the context of the England football team Irish, Welsh, Scottish and N Irish players may as well be French or Spanish. But anyway..

Out your first team there'd be none by position who would get into ours. I'd have Gallas/Vermaelen over King/Woodgate any day. At a stretch possibly Lennon over Arshavin or Rosicky but that's far more to do with the fact the latters have been less than their usual selves this campaign. Bale may have had a great finish to the season by lets just see if he can continue that form or whether he was more likely having a one off purple patch.

Wenger likes technical players who are of Champion's League quality. For the price, there really are very few English options available. Out of those, only Chelsea and UTD can afford their comparatively extortionate transfer fees and wages. You may have Crouch and Woodgate, but then lets not assume that they're of that quality, don't forget they were both surprlus to requirements when at Liverpool and Madrid respectively.

Haha!

I think maybe he was just laughing at the fact that in lieu of occupying the country of England, it would be pretty impressive if the majority of the youth academy and other lower echelons of an English club were to be anything other than... English. I would put more weight on which players make it through to anything near the first team.

Arsenal have a few though. Wilshere and Randall especially.

Not to mention Gibbs, Campbell, Gavin Hoyte, Bartley and Eastmond. Could say Thomas Cruise who played a game or two earlier in the year as well.
