I see out Foreign Secretary Cleverly has been in Israel today showing support, so I dare say we'll have some more Islamic attacks here again soon enough.
Well criminal acts do tend to have an epidemic-like effect so it'd be an issue regardless.

No doubt it will be someone known to services and the government will be "shocked" that they can finally add a few more draconian laws to the book.

Quite a few carriers have been sunk in various exercises, I guess it's different on paper to reality, but as I said before warfare is completely changing before our eyes with the proliferation of drones so anything is possible at this point where old tactics meet new
True by Swedish submarines but not by some geezer in a speedboat ;) That carrier is over 1,000ft long with 4,500 crew and four Arleigh Burke destroyers with it, absolutely bristling with sensors and firepower. The USS Cole wasn't sunk with a 200-300kg shaped charge so they are not easy to sink.

Thing with a carrier, they are heavily protected, but it only takes some complacency and/or a lucky missile to have significant impact on one. As a target you have to know exactly where they are which is actually not easy even for a near peer adversary, compensate for any movement (which could be significant in terms of targeting accuracy) and bypass their defences in some way i.e. massive barrage.

EDIT: Some missiles can re-target autonomously once they get into the general area of a carrier force if they are programmed to recognise it - but not the kind of hardware generally found in Middle Eastern arsenals.

However, Israel as a recognised state with a functioning government can't just do whatever it wants.
Both of thoose conditions applied to Nazi Germany and look how that worked out.

The US and other allies, as well as other countries, might not get too involved as it is now but they would most definitely intervene if it became a governement sponsored genocide.

That would likely be the case but I don't think the only reason the Israeli state isn't on a genocidal warpath is because their allies would turn on them.

There's no getting away from it.... the end game of Hamas is the elimination of the Jews, something they've not too shy to talk about. There are of course Jewish extremists who might adopt a similar position in reverse but can't be said to be the wider held position of the Jewish part of the state of Israel.

Hezbollah have submarines too, granted not as sophisticated as Swedish subs

There was another exercise based on geezers in speedboats though

At the start of MC ’02, to fulfill the forced-entry requirement, blue issued red an eight-point ultimatum, of which the final point was surrender. Red team leader Van Riper knew his country’s political leadership could not accept this, which he believed would lead the blue forces to directly intervene. Since the George W. Bush administration had recently announced the “preemption doctrine,” Van Riper decided that as soon as a U.S. Navy carrier battle group steamed into the Gulf, he would “preempt the preemptors” and strike first. Once U.S. forces were within range, Van Riper’s forces unleashed a barrage of missiles from ground-based launchers, commercial ships, and planes flying low and without radio communications to reduce their radar signature. Simultaneously, swarms of speedboats loaded with explosives launched kamikaze attacks. The carrier battle group’s Aegis radar system — which tracks and attempts to intercept incoming missiles — was quickly overwhelmed, and 19 U.S. ships were sunk, including the carrier, several cruisers, and five amphibious ships. “The whole thing was over in five, maybe ten minutes,” Van Riper said.
