I wouldn't take Sky News too seriously at the moment frankly, not after Kay Burley lying this morning about the Palestinian Ambassador.
She's an idiot I have no idea why they keep her on they should have kept her suspension permanent. Most of their coverage is decent (breakfast TV in general on all channels seems to be infested with people of very little brain)

Sky news basically rubbished the claims too in a article earlier today.
The first thing I thought of when I heard the claims were "baby killers" the phrase used in WWI in regards to the germans and propaganda pictures of huns knifing babies. Its a phrase used to dehumanize a enemy and generate hysteria (it wasn't true).

I think Israel should stop the bombing now. Step back and let humanitarian aid be distributed. Try and get the hostages released and only then progress but without committing any war crimes etc...
I'm sure Hamas would greatly appreciate an opportunity to regroup.

I see that but, i do think Israel should pull back from the constant bombing.

If they had good intel, would they really need to pummel Gaza so much?

Maybe its time to move in on foot now.

That's so cute

With the two US carrier groups in the eastern Mediterranean, there will be around 20,000 US navy forces and at their disposal is around 200 fighter jets and other aircraft and if the carrier group is carrying full ammunition there will be several nuclear subs under the water carrying around 300 tomahawk missiles and torpedoes and on the water there destroyers carrying another 1000 to 2000 missiles of various types

I suspect the Hamas tunnels take extra effort and time to get at from the air. Considering that Hamas clearly doesn't care about Palestinian lives or "war crimes". I fully expect them to have entrances to these tunnels in hospitals, residential buildings, places of worship etc.

-Same goes for their stocks of weapons and ammo. They will hide wherever they hope their enemy won't dare touch. It's illogical to expect otherwise from them.

The Israeli government has decided it's too good a story to drop, so they're now running with it anyway.

He didn't confirm claims, he said he had seen the pics himself. That's quite a hill to get yourself off of.

Yes and not the first time he has said stuff like that about events which did not happen, or not as he claimed.

Seems like Rroff was quite correct on this one, and Biden was apparently referring to the news reports that have been discussed already. Quite remarkable that he will just ad lib stuff like this!

Such a shame Lebanon has gone backwards. I was there around 2002 I think and there was real hope. The main street area had been completely rebuilt, there was an art installation of photographs all the way down it of what it looked before the war, what it looked like at its worst. They'd done an amazing job of getting it back to how it had been. You could see why it was called the Paris of the East. The food was incredible and the people welcoming.

Oh and the girls were stunning. We had a wrap party on the last day and went clubbing. I was getting very friendly with a local girl and tried to talk her into coming back to my hotel. She said her brothers would cut my balls off if they found out

A friend of mine spent quite a bit of time out there working with refugee children (mostly escaping the war in Syria) in the camps out there, I was involved a bit with their charity. It is a real shame to see the two extremes of the country and what could be.

I take no satisfaction from it but after Afghanistan I'd have thought people would have known better than to take anything Biden says seriously.

Sadly whether that particular event is true or not there are several similar atrocities carried out by Hamas which have been verified and/or supported with dashcam and other evidence.

So Biden didn't actually see any pictures but the Israeli government is now happy to mention the baby beheading story even though originally it was no comment as it was disrespectful to the victims.

If I was cynical I'd say now that more people are questioning the rationale and support for the continued bombing of Gaza someone is trying to remind us about how evil and brutal Hamas were in their attack and thus need wiping out.

This would be a pretty horrific place for the situation to stagnate - Gaza left with a crippled infrastructure, large humanitarian crisis and Hamas in a desperate state but not weakened enough for anyone else to take power.

@413x Well, lucky for the Israelis that they don't care about your opinion...certainly not as much as they care for the lives of their citizens and soldiers.

Not really sure why they need to cut off water tbh. That's well into the realms of actions I don't personally support. You can't get more indiscriminate than that imo. Why is that needed if they are going in on a ground assault?

Indeed

Broadly there appear to be four groups:

1. Support for Israel no matter what
2. Support for Hamas no matter what
3. Support for Palestinians
4. They've all got blood on their hands but. innocents will die.

Haven't seen anyone for 2.

Very much number 4

It is a cynical move, nominally cutting off water, etc. is done to force civilians to flee a combat area, but there is nowhere for them to flee too currently. Aside from intentionally inflicting misery it could also be a cynical move to try and force them to kick Hamas out but that is unlikely to happen.

It screams of a tantrum.
I totally get wanting to do it. In a tit for tat this is very much the retaliation.

Objectively (which we have the fortune of being outside the toxic box they are in) it doesn't look good. It's going to hurt innocents significantly more than hamas.

The situation is at rock bottom and everything is basically on the cards.

It does feel a lot like a punitive move, there might already be stuff in play behind the scenes as to opening up a refugee corridor i.e. to Egypt but I have my doubts that is behind it.
