Considering what happened the last time they merely let Hama win an election, not sure I can blame them.

Maybe this war can do them a favour so an election that doesn't result in an immediate civil war can occur.

So you think it's okay to go in and kill every male between 16 and 50! How desensitised the Internet must make people. These are human beings, most just want a normal life. Israel have been responding with excessive force for years over and over and it has achieved nothing but more misery and bloodshed. Now you are saying its alright to basically wipe out every man between 16 and 50 in Gaza! Israel are going to kill 1000s of non Hamas, parents will end up watching their babies and children die due to Israel cutting off water and vital supplies, you think that's going to help the chances for peace? It's horrendous what Israel are doing to innocent people.
 
Historically I've been pro-Palestine. Now though, I think the world should give Gaza and Palestine to the Israelis and evict the Palestinians. To a degree evicting the Palestinians will be ceding to bullies, but I can't see a workable alternative.

Egypt should be persuaded to take the Palestinians in, and each Palestinian should be given $50,000 a year for 5 years to find their feet and start a new life. Egypt can get a similar amount per Palestinian they take in in recognition of their solving of this global problem.

That is ethnic cleansing and can only result in Islamists getting the biggest recruitment ad they could hope for. There's an obvious solution here that Israel doesn't want to do, make East Jerusalem/West Bank the Palestinian state and move on.

The death toll in Gaza following air strikes by Israeli forces has risen to 1,417, according to an update from the health ministry in the Palestinian territory.

Sounds like a great way to make them targets and hated by others. That's an incredible amount of money for just about everyone in those countries.

Look at how people react over here when it comes to people getting benefits that, when applied in relative terms, are far from what $50,000 a year gets you in Egypt.

This, although not pro-Palestine...... Just visiting the BBC website and it's pretty much 90% all Palestine/Hamas support :eek:

Yes I think that is quite likely to happen. Must be a horrible to be an innocent Palestinian facing that, with what looks like no way out. Even if humanitarian corridors are opened with Egypt, I can't really see them letting young men out easily. :(

Hamas can prevent that by returning the hostages, if they care about their citizens.

I did stress that I'm not on twitter, and I'd heard that different views are shown. I apologise if it was unavoidable. I just see a timeline with posts from 2020/2019

That's why I asked the question. I still don't see anything in the top posts when clicking the link. It shows how much twitter is messing with the views.

There was a young woman on TV last night, she was in Gaza, I think. She was talking about the services cuts. She ended with the declaration that she didn't think she was going to survive the Israeli attacks. Not only that, but she was surprisingly calm and rational, which in some way made it even worse.
I suppose she has some hope, but the men, sheesh, I would not like to be a man in there. Even foreigners in there are in very real danger.
