Israel-Hamas war - Please do not post videos showing attacks/similar

I did stress that I'm not on twitter, and I'd heard that different views are shown. I apologise if it was unavoidable. I just see a timeline with posts from 2020/2019

That's why I asked the question. I still don't see anything in the top posts when clicking the link. It shows how much twitter is messing with the views.

Not blaming you mate.

Not hugely useful with the environment there - vast majority of the conflict would be in narrow streets with short lines of sight.

likely RPG-7VR ; however pretty sure that Iran and Russia want to test the captured stuff against the best the IDF has.

Yeah,

Yeah, definitely no extra context needed there at all.
Exactly. Whilst I don't doubt the police are on-edge right now, if any mention of Hamas or anti-Jewish sentiment occurred, they were basically asking to be arrested.

Hamas are a designated terrorist group, and anything negative to the Jewish people is anti-semitism (and unfortunately many people confuse anti-Israel with anti-Jew).

Whilst I am 100% behind support for the Palestinian people, this is a dangerous time to be parading a flag where context will be unclear.

Palestine, not Hamas. Honestly, the BBC reporting seems pretty neutral.

If there is anything pro-Hamas, please link it.

Just appeared on GB NEWS AND SKY NEWS

Is there any chance of any country/entity managing to convince Hamas to publicly disband / separate themselves from the Palestinian population (assuming they can be clearly delineated, which I'm increasingly unconvinced by), free the prisoners & walk with hands up over to the Israelis?

Feels like this is the only way to spare the most number of people now. If enough (thousands) fighting age men surrender to Israel, including the known Hamas big boys to stand trials etc ,maybe that will satisfy them.

That's all about not calling them terrorists, but a militant group. They haven't done anything to say Hamas is good, or support them - just being clear on what they report.
I agree that it will likely just make everything about the BBC, but if you ignore the name-calling, the reporting has been unbiased from all my reading.
They're not running anything saying Hamas was just 'misunderstood'.

Just to follow up on the previous twitter point, be aware that most links being posted can't be viewed by anyone not logged into twitter. So if you care about what you're posting, you probably want a brief quote or description. I don't care as I'm happy to miss most of what is on there, but just thought it worth mentioning for those who don't know.

I think the BBC was wrong about this. There isn't much difference between militant and terrorist, but the distinction for me on the Saturday attacks was they were mostly against civilians, which in my book makes it terrorism.

Getting pressed over one word is peak cringe.
True. But I think people are annoyed because it was like the BBC refused to accept the severity of the event. They were wording it down.

That is ethnic cleansing and can only result in Islamists getting the biggest recruitment ad they could hope for. There's an obvious solution here that Israel doesn't want to do, make East Jerusalem/West Bank the Palestinian state and move on.
And hamas ? down thier weapons and start to love the jews ...?

I highly doubt it.

Bombing a civilian airport, full of civilian aircraft is badass? Why is Israel wanting to make this a region wide conflict?
On balance of judgement, I really don't think Israel would have made that move without very good Intel. And if the Intel is good, then it's a very good and justified preemptive defensive manoeuvre.

Of course if not then its a fairly shocking mistake.

Lol...they want the civilians to suffer, it aids their cause for the destruction of isreal by uniting the other Arab states due to loss of life/suffering of Muslims.

They knew isreal would hammer them, to them every Muslim is a martyr for thier cause.

Heck they dug up water pipes that were put down as aid for the people and turned them into rockets.
