Despite all of us explaining our positions that a complete genocide of 2 million Palestinians who can’t leave Gaza is not exactly the right play for Israel, these morons come In The thread and boil everything down to either supporting Israel or being a hamas sympathiser.

It isn’t that binary/black or white. People posting in this thread m who clearly understand these concepts in the Ukraine thread are showing crazy double standards in here, almost willing to justify Israel
Flattening Gaza.

It’s just so sad.

And to be clear most Israeli's ALSO understand this, despite the huge amount of anger there at the moment, the fight here is not with Palestinians as a race, it is with Hamas/Terrorists, unfortunately they are using your average Joe Palestinian as body shields, and in this situation, civilians are being caught in the middle. The average Israeli, especially those being called up as reserves are both angry, and scared, but also unified in a way that Israel is usually not, as Hamas' terrorism this past weekend has essentially shown that any Israeli or Jew is a target, not just the military or state.

However, even factoring the human cost, if Israel do not respond with severe force, Hamas and people like them will see it as a sign of weakness, or a point to be abused in future, much as they are attempting right now with the hostages taken.

This is one of the clear differences between them and Hamas, Hamas by contrast quite clearly states all Israel/Jews are valid targets, and that they will not stop until Israel is no more :(

Again, just hatred.

How do you know that photo of the Israeli kids is different from the photo of the kid on the high street with the gun?

You're telling me you can't tell the difference between the two photos?

One is clearly a child standing holding an MG for a quick photo on the high street. The other shows several children standing at a table, clearly being instructed by an adult about the weapons they are holding.

It really doesn't have to be this difficult. Not all situations are exactly the same just because X and Y are in a photo.

Looks like some photos have been published on the prime minister of Israel Twitter page in reference to what USA was shown.

I'm deciding not to view these reading comments don't sound good though.

There's no way you can say it's exactly the same situation either, but you can apply context. Your whole argument is look gun, look child, must be the same thing!

Any comparison to the Russia/Ukraine situation is silly.

They are vastly different situations/circumstances.

I'm not justifying it, I'm saying that's probably what will happen.

I mean, do you think the Israelis are going to stop and ask everyone to fill out a questionnaire to work out who is Hamas and who isn't? I think it's more likely that every male in the age range of about 16-50 is going to get shot. Women, children and the old have a chance, but only if they are lucky and they avoid the bombs. Maybe they will take some male prisoners, but I have already heard one commander saying they aren't going in there to take prisoners.
