That's exactly what all the evidence indicates is happening. Israel are not doing indiscriminate bombing. They aren't Hamas. They are doing the opposite; precision bombing. With forwarning in many cases!
 
I don't understand the whole situation, but to me is Hamas like the Taliban (but they're also somehow in power...)?
A terrorist group within the people.

Hamas are a terrorist/militant group.... small and not an "army" or a 1st world nation. They are rightly condemned and will face trial for war crimes etc.... but apparently the Isreali army ( a proper army of a 1st world nation ) are allowed to commit war crimes ???

I love this idea that any country in combat sticks to a set of arbitrary laws set down by random countries.

War crimes from my experience of combat only apply as a stick to hit the losers.

the fact the un has let russia commit multiple without any recompense shows how worthless the laws are.

Lol you talk about facts when the only fact is that Hamas ARE legally a terrorist organisation.

I'm not feeling anything but incredulity at another BBC blunder.

But as long as you are happy that Hamas are described in nice friendly terms - quite at odds with reality.

Yes, it's possible they have all been murdered/ killed already.

Having said that, hostages only have value where there is a belief they are alive and negotiations may free them, or may alleviate their suffering.

Israel's problem is they are dependent on Hamas for confirmation of proof of life. Hamas are almost certainly going to claim hostage deaths are a result if Israeli bombing/ attacks, whatever the facts.

You've misunderstood.

I'm not talking about Israel's current actions. I'm talking about the proposal I put up earlier, which StriderX was responding to.

I agree with you. Israel's government has committed war crimes. And as so many are eager to point out, Israel is a democracy, and so its voters share culpability - unlike in Palestine, where there've been no elections for years.

However, wringing our hands and holding out for a solution that satisfactorily tackles the war criminals in Israel just seems like self-indulgent political fantasy.

Innocents will always die when a bomb is dropped, targeted or not, difference is a targeted attack will kill less.

If isreal wanted to indiscriminately bomb gazza...they would have done it in a day tops.

If the bombing was really as indiscriminate as Hamas supporters would have us believe why is the death count relatively low..

I'm sure Israel have much more powerful weapons available to them if they just want to flatten everything..
