I've consistently condemned the killing of innocents.

I'm not Israeli or Palestinian, so the only side I'm on is the observer.

That way I don't fall into the trap you have fallen into by excusing murder of Jewish people.

I condemn any retaliation killing of Palestinian people too. I feel sad that their lives are at risk because of a group of hotheads.

There are a couple of posters who are obviously cheering on Hamas though trying to keep up appearances.

Personally can't stand either side in this conflict, the extremists on both sides, and there is no shortage of them, are extremely tribal and want to wipe out or enslave anyone who isn't them, that includes you and I or anyone else in this thread who isn't them as much as it is each other.
 
One might have thought that two people's so closely entwined through geography, shared histories and yes, ancestry might get on without threatening to completely wipe from the face of the earth, the other side.

And having done so for at least three generations to my knowledge.

Again there will be a flare up, it is inconceivable to believe otherwise but maybe two exhausted warriors in a year or so will give up. At some stage there will be a negotiation but the genocide talk will have to go.

Warped thinking? Israel can't stop Hamas from bringing in rockets, but you think they stop food from getting in.

I'm not convinced Hezbollah are going to get stuck in - at least not alone (other than Hamas), I'm assuming they are either saying this to try and take some of the pressure off Gaza by forcing the Israelis to divide their attention, or hoping that other entities will be encouraged by it to get involved - which probably won't happen.
