It didnt take them long - Fans fighting.

I like how we are always painted as hooligans but you look at the rest of Europe who are considerably worse than us. Polish/Russian/Turkish fans at games are insane. Look at parts of Italy, where our fans travel to Naples and get stabbed by local nut jobs. We get drunk and loud but we are no way as bad as some other nations. We get caught up in it a lot of the time by other nations kicking off. Typical "England fans are scum" comments as I come to expect. We are nothing like these other groups.

Many still haven't forgotten the Heysel Stadium incident which caused the death of 39 people and injured more than 600.

So your view is that these people are just victims every time they're away?:rolleyes:

No one is saying that all England fans are scum...people are just calling scum exactly that. There's scum from all sides but let's be sensible here and call it as it is.

And yet we saw no such problems today. What were Croat and Turkish fans doing today? Even if what you say is true, it looks like it is controlled well enough or enough of a minority to not cause waves.

Just to iterate my point about how 'bad' our fans our, compare this to Russians
"Russia were previously punished for the behaviour of their fans inside stadiums at all three of their group games during Euro 2012 in Poland and Ukraine."

Stop blaming ours all the time. If people are being attacked, not sure what you expect to happen. Not everyone is going to be able to flee if they are caught unawares and their friends and fellow fans will retaliate.

"So your view is that these people are just victims every time they're away?"

No, but it is clear that when we travel away both for club and country our fans are regularly targeted.

An example of the type of behaviour that goes on in other countries.

You hear of it all the time if you watch football. I am not saying we shouldn't take some responsibility, because we should and this behaviour should not be tolerated at all. As much as I do enjoy football, I am completely put off with this type of behaviour and I find it embarrassing to say I am a football fan when you see stuff like this happening. But, it's important to remember that in this country at least it has come a long way since the days of old where it was much worse and you won't see the same level of trouble as compared to other parts of the EU.

Stupidity, why should the Russian team be sent home because of a minority of their fans?
The idiots should be rounded up and locked up.

Not really stupidity. Get your own house in order before inflicting the problems on other nations. If you can't let your own fans know how to behave then how are you expected to police it overseas. If everyone is punished then the 'bad eggs' will be ratted out soon enough because the proper fans won't tolerate it.

So you agree as English supporters we should first and foremost focus on what a minority of our supporters are doing?

Only then we can talk to other nations with any moral high ground?

The trouble outside Marseille can't be blamed on others entire. Anecdotally you can, but the scenes where it is English fans against the police are unacceptable.

You're right in that it is so much better here than in the days of old and it's also better than many places in Europe however I'd put that down to effective Policing rather than a change in people or attitudes. It's one of the reasons why it still exists when they play internationally. A small minority may be involved in the violence however a larger percentage simply don't know how to behave and also can't express their national pride in a non confrontational manner when in other countries. A combination of that and decades of hooliganism leads to a point where it will be seriously difficult to escape trouble and that's a shame for regular supporters who can behave.

Question when was the last time English fans acted how some people are thinking they are now (not saying some are not)? I cant remember anything like this at the last few events or in the champions/Europa league for years now?

Compare that to how other countries fans have acted I would say we have largely stamped it out within our fanbase.

This isn't ment to sound racist or anything like that but......

....
Im surprised at how Russian Ultras and Local youths who are mainly ECONOMIC migrants are teaming up together, considering that there brothers are pretty much fighting each other in syria (generalisation).

After watching collymore periscope I'd say this has been in the planning for months according to C4, ruskies flying to switzerland first.

No hate, Good bless free speech! :D

I'm Sergei a 56 year old coal worker and I will not tolerate you Russian Ultras spoiling it for me.
Sergei wakes up in a hospital.

You really think real fans can do anything about it?
What do they so, start an e-Petition like we do here or just hold up some posters saying 'Ultras Go Away'?

I think he means having the Russians football association and other responsible bodies acted on the issues that effect the sport in their country, just as we did here. This includes not having the Russian sports minister saying that there was no clashes and that the English just ran away, or the leader of the Russian football fans union saying there was no violence (clearly the images and videos all over twitter of what happen in the stadium last night are all made up and filmed in Cornwall against a green screen).

Maybe a ban of Russian clubs from world and European competition for a few years like we had done to us, that really started the improvement in how we dealt with fan trouble, would force them to finally do something.

The only reason it was done to us was because Mrs Thatcher begged them to ban English football teams. I wouldn't put it past Mr Cameron to do the same but Mr Putin won't - indeed the Russian state-controlled media seems proud that 'their boys' won all the battles.

How ever it happened it helped kick start us sorting our issues out. Russia needs to do the same or face consequences. Mr Cameron hasn't got to do anything, we will punish anyone we can prove acted badly and no longer have a large violent football subculture.

It's nothing to do with football.

I was disappointed at English fans a couple of nights ago but really this recent stuff is scary, the Russian papers even praised their fans thuggish behavior.

Feel sorry for the 99% of genuine fans on both sides.

Banning Russia will do nothing these people are not football lovers they care nothing about football.
