iTunes Match is live...

I feel that the 'Matching your music with songs in the iTunes Store." could take some time. 181 of 9148 songs checked and it's crawling.

About half of mine are stored in Apple Lossless anyway so they won't be touched.

It's just taken a little over 5 minutes to match just over 2500 songs. I'm just waiting for the remaining 181 songs to be uploaded which it's flying through.

Very impressed so far! :)

Finished uploading the songs about 5 minutes ago and I've tested it on 2 iPhones, iPad 2 & Apple TV without a hitch!

£22 well spent. :D

The first two matching stages were super quick. I have a ton of music that is having to be uploaded so it's taking ages on our slow connection, been going all night! 1800 to be uploaded. Think I will trim my tracks down a bit over the next few days

Loving the upgrade in bitrate though. I ripped a ton of music from CD's a few years ago and they all ripped to 128kbps so a doubling in bitrate is fantastic!

Seems to be working well enough so far.

I do like the fact it keeps all your metadata when you download an iCloud track. It just replaces the actual audio data part. Very useful.

Yeah but it can't back up your music/videos it only backs up app data, contacts etc...

Erm being able to download all your purchased music repeatedly to any of your devices is very much a main feature of iTunes in the cloud. It also does your TV show purchases now as well.

The only thing missing now is movies.

You're referring to re-downloading purchased music and tvshows through the iTunes app, not through iCloud

I've just installed iTunes on the windows desktop so I can see how easy restoring the library via iTunes match would be.

I have to say I'm very impressed. Not only is all my music there (about 50/50 iTunes purchases to CD rips), but also all my play lists, ratings and play counts etc are there as well.

I'm thinking this might be the best £21 I've spent all year.

I assume I can't get to download any 'matched' music until it's finished uploading? All my tunes have the little dotted cloud icon that says waiting when I hover.

I'm assuming you need to keep paying £21 a year to keep the upgraded bitrate tracks? Not got any IOS devices at the moment so that element not that useful, but to get everything as 256kb sounds like a bargain for £21

Yeah, afaik you need to wait until your tracks are uploaded. It might take a few mins for any 'processing' as well.

I did my match upload last night but didn't actually get around to playing with it until an hour ago so I'm not sure how long it all takes. I wouldn't have thought it'd be too long though.

No DRM on the tracks, once they are on your system they are yours. If you stop subscribing you'll just loose the iTunes Match features, but any 'matched' tracks you've already downloaded will stay. They are just like any other .m4a file.

I have created a smart playlist which shows all songs it has uploaded.

It has uploaded a ton of music I expected it to have matched.

eg: 1 track from Now 80 has been uploaded rather than matched like all the other songs on Now 80.

How can I get this to be resolved?
