Jaaaaaag Owners

They provide a great service in every aspect other than fixing cars. The customer service is top notch from the service desk in terms of getting me in as soon as possible for as long it needs (or at least the workshop think it needs ) and getting me in to a car. And a couple of times they've put me in an F-Type for the week.

Can't fault their customer service in that regards, but that's starting to not be enough now as the frustration grows

Owned since August 2015, been trouble-free beyond really minor niggles.

240PS Petrol Portfolio. Get a smile every time I drive it. :)

Anyone here know anything about X-Types? My father has just picked up a really nice 2.0 D, 2007 registered, one owner from new. Couple of wee niggles with it though. He sometimes has issues starting it from warm. Fires up on the button from cold but if he drives it to shops, parks up and comes back 5 mins later it can sometimes struggle to start? Also, the headlight levelling control in the car on the dash seems to work only when it feels like it?

Very common problem and an easy enough fix. It's known as the hot start stumble, ecu needs updating to the latest release. Best bet is find your nearest Jag specialist as it'll be cheaper than getting it updated at a dealer. Had mine done a few months back at Horner and Hudsons in Macclesfield, perfect ever since.

Can't help regards the headlights sadly, but the Jag forum linked to above is very helpful, fixed all the issues I've had using info from the forum.

Well thought i;d post in here. End of November i'll be getting my nice new shiny Jaguar XF R-Sport 180 auto!

added a few options onto it to make it a little nicer :)

Can't wait although being 35 i feel a bit young to drive a jag ;)

Once it arrives i'll take some nice shots for you guys.

Had the XJ for just over a month now and I'm in love with it. The way it makes me feel when I'm driving it is hard to describe but I think the right word would be "special".
I adore the hand-crafted feel of the interior even if there are a few suspect quality plastics here and there. I love the leather covering everything. I love the interior illumination at night.
The performance from the 5.0 V8 I would describe as sufficient. It's fast enough to make short work of any overtake and to kick you in the back when you floor it. Makes a really nice sound for a large exec too. I like that Jaguar have let some engine noise get in to the cabin and have resisted the urge to completely isolate the driver from the motor.
Handling is good for a car of this size and it feels smaller than it is when tackling twisty roads. It's easy to place and follows a clean line in corners. Steering is a little on the light side but has plenty of feel and is precise.

What don't I like? Well, not a lot really. The infotainment is dreadful as is the navigation system. My maps are about 7 years out of date and I'm not paying Jaguar £200 for an update to a terrible system just so it is still terrible but has new maps. I will continue to use my phone for nav. The UI doesn't really bother me much because I tend to just set it to play music from my USB stick and leave it. I've got a 128GB stick in there with my entire music collection on it. I've also got my phone connected via bluetooth to stream Spotify if needed so, as I said, the UI and interface doesn't really bother me.
The LCD dash feels like a bit of a waste in the car. It's as if Jaguar decided "Hey, an LCD dash would be cool" and just did it with no thought for what additional features they could have to take advantage of it. It's just sort of there, doing the same job as normal dials.

Would I buy this car again if I was in the market right now? Absolutely I would.

Got mine about a week after you did and loving mine, I just did a trip from Lincoln to Southampton and managed 51mpg which included a load of rush hour traffic and 3 passengers. I could sit in the car all day long, it's perfect for trips down to Spain which is one of the main reasons I purchased this car, the interior is perfection the drive is the best XJ quality to date, I would say it drives nicer than my Chairman's ageing Arnage T. Smile every time I get it in, my last XJR the newness had worn off by this point.

Sounds like you made the right decision after all. Beautiful machine! I could never purchase one due to the infotainment though, as you pointed out. For a car of that price and beauty, they really did balls up the in-car tech.

It's good to see Jag are still at it with the touch screens :(

So after months of debating which car I actually want I finally went and ordered a new Jag XF :D

Ordered an XF R-Sport 180 Auto in Caesium Blue with several options. Gutted I'll have to wait until February for it, apparently the folding rear seats meant it had to be a factory order!

Managed to get a really good deal on it with servicing and maintenance courtesy of a friend in my golf club who works with a dealer :)

Happy days!

my previous car was white so like in winter it was a real pain. I;ve had dark grey before on a few cars and love it. think this one looks good with the black kit, getting rid of shiny chrome!

Any room for sheds in this thread? :p

I just bought a 3.0 manual X Type Sport to replace my vandalised Prelude. Quite like it so far, corners really well considering the size thanks to the 4wd and it got me back to Cornwall from London without exploding. Not many toys in the Sport but no obvious issues yet! *touches wood*

Well thats the spec for my new XF R-Sport (180 auto) finalised and on route to being built :) Went for the following options and accessories:

Metallic paint (Caesium Blue)
Powerfolding heated wing mirrors
Heated windscreen
Heated steering wheel
Privacy Glass
InControl Touch Pro with virtual cockpit/dash thingy
380w Meridian digital sound system
Auto park with reversing camera
Folding rear seats
Front and rear mud guards
Black/Red Taurus leather
Personalised sill treadplates

First time I've ever bought a new car, can't wait! Expecting delivery mid-Feb! :D
