January Transfer Window 2010/2011 Season Rumours/Signings

BBC Journo reporting Liverpool made a £30M bid for Andy Carrol..

Not sure if I'd like that.

I prefer the other rumours of us being interested again in Mario Gomez, we were after him in the summer and I rather rate him and think he would work very well with Suarez.

Carroll looks promising and he is big and strong, could turn into a very good striker, but he still has a lot to prove at the top level, too much to prove imo to be forking out £30m on him at this stage.

A few musings from Kenny Dalglish on this most frantic of days. He said at a news conference on Monday morning: "We've not brought anyone in as a replacement for anyone else. Movement is part and parcel of football but the most important people at Liverpool Football Club are the ones who want to be here."

That for says Torres is gone!

If Carrol is worth £30M we should be getting a new stadium for Torres IMO. I don't really rate him highly but others seem to think he'd be amazing.

EDIT- bensmith_Times

100% confirmed that #LFC did make a £30m bid for Andy Carroll this morning. Incredible

The whole thing is a total nonsense. After spending a week scrimping over Suarez we storm straight in with 30m for Carrol. I'm sure Suarez feels great hearing that news :(

What the **** is going on?!? I look on Twitter and the first thing I see is about Carroll, why would Liverpool want him?!? Or Spurs for that matter...its going to be a very strange day!!

I'm sure that Suarez is professional enough to know that a move on the last day is going to push up the price, a young player is going to push up the price and an English player is going to significantly push up the price.

I think its too much for him , at this stage personally, but I can see why the offer would be made. Irrelevant now though as Newcastle rejected it.

They gotta cough up the £50m first.

Surely it means its basically a done deal already... no one in their right mind would pay £30m for Carroll out of their own pocket!

Use some of the 50m for that and then the rest on a new LB... :D

There seem to be quite a few reports of sturridge going on loan to bolton. I can only see that being arranged if the torres deal is in the bag as we wouldn't have enough strikers otherwise...

True..Thank god Kenny is at the helm, could you imagine Roy in the thick of this.

"Roy makes £45m bid for Carlton Cole"

1116: Rolling, rolling, rolling. The Press Association is reporting that Newcastle have rejected a £30m bid from Liverpool for Andy Carroll.

Seriously are Newcastle ******* crazy?!?

I think it's just a question of if someone else jumps in at the 11th hour with a £50m bid and ruins it all, or if Chelsea go with cash or £40m+Anelka.

I think Anelka will go the other way as otherwise one of Drogba/Anelka/Torres is going to be bench-warming and that isn't going to sit well with any of them.

If the reports are true, Anelka has said he doesnt want to go to Liverpool, so I guess that rules him out of the equation
