I seem to remember Anelka banging on about this being his "last move" when he joined Chelsea so I did wonder if he'd consider moving.

Good on him though if he's staying to fight for his place.

Maybe he is yet, maybe Newcastle are just holding out to see how high Liverpool will go in their desperation to get a striker today. Maybe Newcastle are just going to give it a few more hours before saying yes.

Intriguing developments at Newcastle. Manager Alan Pardew was due to hold his pre-match press conference ahead of Wednesday's trip to Fulham at the club's training headquarters at 1400 GMT. This has now been put back to 1530 GMT and will take place at St James' Park. Make of that what you will.

Ok Sturridge has gone now,

if you saw my info last night i basically said the toress deal was done because sturridge was previously not allowed to leave until another player was in. He was given the green light last night

I had the mods delete my posts because i was getting in trouble with people

My mate is good friends with him and told me this the other day
