January Transfer Window 2010/2011 Season Rumours/Signings

Liverpool fans on Sky burning a Torres shirt, little bit OTT methinks

Most football fans are tbh.

I remember strathclyde police up here saying that the number of domestic voilence calls they receive increases by roughly 300-400% after an old firm match...

Why am I not suprised to see DM backing up Mike Ashley? :p

It's like he derives sexual pleasure from being contrary to prevailing opinion...

Sexual pleasure, no, satisfaction not to be lumped in with the same opinion as 99% of THIS country, just the feeling of superiority. I also find don't go into every world/euro cup thinking England will win just because I happen to be English.

Its quite simple, he bought a club on the brink of financial ruin, in Leed's/Pompie type debt, where did Leeds/Pompie end up, look where Newcastle are, to be unable to see what a pretty epic job the club has done financially is just plain stupid. They were in debt and losing money every year, it wasn't the best year in the league and they went down, they got rid of most of the overpaid players, he paid off like 100million in debt after paying 80mil or so for the club and was remember, paying off transfers that were done YEARS before that had payments still outgoing.

Newcastle are through the bad spell, not in any trouble financially(i think some debt but they were on the brink of collapsing), promoted and mid table.

Can you name a Leeds or pompie fan who wouldn't have taken a slightly sane owner, who would take over either club, they end up relegated but come back up the next season with a vastly more financially stable club, I doubt it.

35m is just crazy cant be justified at all so early on.

Dzeko and tevez were less, villa a wc winner and one of the top goal scorers was less and there is a huge gulf between hin and them.

Good business fron nufc tbh just hope it gets invested.

Dzeko hasn't scored a goal in the EPL, quite a few players go into the German league with poor scoring records and suddenly become massive high scoring players, Robben for one, Ribery, etc. He looks decent but hasn't proven himself. Nor is he one of the really VERY few very powerful and big strikers. Lots of clubs want options, small fast finisher, dime a dozen, huge guys who offer a different option, honestly theres very few around.

Tevez is older and is almost certainly moving away from the EPL soon, so how good value was he really? Huge expense on a player that ultimately prefers not to play in England, which you can say about most Spanish/southern american players. Almost all feel more at home in a better climate and a Spanish/Italian culture. Will Dzeko stay at City for a decade, or smeg off in a couple years.

How likely is Carroll to go to Italy/Spain, or how likely is he to stay in the EPL till his career is done.

In general English players just don't go abroad, they are more loyal, Gerrard has had plenty of chances to go to better teams in Europe, as has Lampard, Terry and loads of other english players, they don't go because they want to play in England.

Its just one more factor to consider, not that it necessarily makes him worth more money, but that the money could have more long term value than other players.

Why do sky keep saying the transfer window is slammed shut at 11pm? It's never the case. It's always left on the latch for Spurs or Chelsea to complete a move 6 hours later.

Knowing how SSN were asking us to burn the Gerrard shirts in 05, dont be so sure its just down to fan power.

Im REALLY not looking forward to the Chelsea games now - Utd will get killed if Torres gets his act together

Come on your stinking Glazers, stop being so selfish and sell Utd to those lovely gents from Qatar, so Fergie can go on a spending spree in the summer without being worried about the debt :D

ONLY 6 hours late, that would be an improvement wouldnt it lol - wasnt it nearer midday after the last window shut!!

Who cares where Suarez plays? We all know he can only play with his hands :p

I rate Carroll very highly, but this is ridiculously high. So now it is almost certain the Torres will go to Chelsea, Carroll to Liverpool, so I presume both deals are waiting on Newcastle finding someone to replace Carroll.

This could be one interesting evening.

Well I think certain documents have to be through by the deadline, so you can't really start the process after the deadline although obviously finalising stuff is fine.

It won't seem OTT when Carra cuts him in half next Sunday ;)

Is Soto fit? I'd love to see him and Cara against Torres, Soto is just, well, Caragher pretends to try to play football inbetween fouls, Soto just fouls people with none of that football involved. Hell when he's on form he'll happily take our your own players if he's bored :p

Sky Sports News understands talks have broken down between Torres and Chelsea as a result of Terry failing to reach an agreement with Torres's wife.

It's weird how it was reported that Carrol flew to Sweden yesterday to see a specialist about his injury now he's in Pool :D

How will he pass his medical?!
