January Transfer Window 2010/2011 Season Rumours/Signings

If Chelsea actually come away from today with Torres and David Luiz they have got to be favourites for the League right? I know they have some catching up to do but 75 odd million of talent is...intimidating.

Only £25m....Cos after next Sunday Torres will be out for the rest of the season :D

I think you're very naive ;)

The 11pm deadline counts for nothing.
Oh, also:

1911: Mandeep Sanghera reports: "With all the late transfer action, how much leeway is there on the 2300 GMT deadline for transfers? Basically, NONE. I've been informed that if the relevant paperwork isn't in by the designated time a deal is not going to happen. Some deals can take a while to be confirmed as the relevant information needs to be processed and a delay can sometimes be caused by details missing. International transfers need to be ratified by midnight with Fifa but the Premier League need to know about them by 2300 GMT."

Is this the same Torres who looks dreadfully out of form? David Luiz who despite being talented will need time to adjust coming from the Portugese league.

I have my doubts they'll hit the ground running.

Hell Berbatov took 2-3 years as we all know to start performing coming from another EPL side. :p

Not really, I am hearing Chelsea are trying to get some back room staff in now to help some of the current squad put their dummies back in.

No, for the same reason City aren't. Spending lots of money doesn't guarantee you jack. I know United fans would like to shift the pressure from theirs to loose to Chelseas, but realistically you are still the favourites, and Chelseas new signings doesn't change that.

You can wipe that smug look off your face. You're incredibly naive if you think the relevant paperwork for the Ashley Cole and VdV deals were in on time.

Agree. No way can a team gel this quickly. As for next season tho...
