January Transfer Window 2010/2011 Season Rumours/Signings

No, for the same reason City aren't. Spending lots of money doesn't guarantee you jack. I know United fans would like to shift the pressure from theirs to loose to Chelseas, but realistically you are still the favourites, and Chelseas new signings doesn't change that.

a midlevel club (no offence) desperately spending money and an already top level club signing one of the best strikers in the world are two very different things though. They both may take time to adjust but if Torres htis the ground running...we could be ******. If he helps them win both Chelsea-United games then suddenly the gap is not so large.

I though the wage bill as a percentage of turnover was taken into account too, if that is the case Chelsea can only be closer to the limit as of today.

There wages isn't so much of an issue as their massive losses. Not sure if you saw but Chelsea released their accounts today and it showed a £69m loss.

I'm not big on foreign club info, out of curiosity though, how many of those are owned by foreign owners?

athletico - Spanish board, I presume votes for pres a la barca and real
bayern - privately owned stock by the club and adidas
Internazionale - Moratti
Marseille - Margarita Louis-Dreyfus (She's russian)
Lokomotiv Moscow - i dunnouno
Galatasaray - Adnan Polat is the prez and turkish.

Pretty much all "locally" owned then by the looks of it. Thanks.

Got a link?

Don't the new rules also disallow big cash injections from the owners in order to wipe out debts?

Doesn't change the fact that you're still the favourites. Doesn't matter how much Chelsea spend and on who, still new players fitting into a new team. Of course they're better off, but so much that they're suddenly favourites again whilst points behind you in 4th? No chance.

Its a funny thing, when Alonso left and when Mascherano left , both times I felt the team was going to be worse for it. This time though, I am undecided, part of me actually thinks we will be better off this time. Guess I will have to wait and see how things are going after a few games.

I cant believe we still aren't signing anyone.

:D

6 players out on loan this window haven't we? Bought Dzeko in. 6 out doesn't include Johnson lost to injury, Micah, Balo. That's quite a difference.

Sounds like we should be recalling some loans at very least, it's looking very thin on the ground.
