January Transfer Window 2010/2011 Season Rumours/Signings

City looking to spend 50million in Jan on Hulk, Alves and Dzeko.

I don't think any of those clubs will let those players go.

Dzenko doesnt want to go.

Hulk cant finish.

And Alves would simply destroy what little squad harmony there is at city.

Three well thought out rumours by the press there.

Dzenko doesnt want to go.

On the contrary;

"That [his future] is up to Wolfsburg," he told Bild.

"But at the moment it looks like I am staying.

"I don't want anyone to get the wrong impression: I very much enjoy playing for Wolfsburg.

"But I also have a dream. I want to play in the Champions League every year."

Doesn't sound like someone happy with where they are, having said that he wont get year after year of Champions League with City

I wouldnt bet on it to be fair - while throwing money at the squad hasnt worked so far (convincingly), it will eventually, and they only need to qualify once to attract the really premium players (or like Dzenko on the verge of the big time) before they cement one of the places for CL

Arsenal, Man Utd arent as convincing as they have been previously (in the EPL) let alone the 4th place (which in itself is challanging to keep along with staying in the CL past the group stage, as Spurs are finding out)

Not knocking Spurs at all, they are doing very well (and the £££ City have already splashed is hard to compete with in its own right) but they arent close to nailing on 4th place by any means either, with some disappointing EPL performances

Utd will have to introduce a few new faces in the next season or two (whether from within the Utd ranks , EPL faces or totally new to the EPL) and that could destabailise an unconvinving /inconsistant away performances before they settle in

Arsenal are always a quandry at the best of times - some brilliant performances/results and then when you think they have a nailed on win coming up they just dont turn up for a myriad of reasons

I would love to see Spurs consistantly in the group stages of the CL year after year, but I think it will be a shock to the system after Xmas with crunch game after crunch game one after another in several comps and with Mancini reportedly having £50m to spend in Jan (practically gaurenteed he will spend it if the story is true of course), they are the most at risk this season at any rate with the other three not that far ahead either

Marvellous, Vermaelen is out for another month.

The Arsenal disease strikes again, this boy was fine before he came to us and it's fast turning into a Rosicky. Fire the ****ing medical staff now.

Sidwell to West Ham, done his medical. Just awaiting results, Villa confirmed the medical did take place.

A few papers seem to mention Adebayor on Loan to West Ham, can't see it happening personally.

It is hard for anyone in sport to keep their cool all the time, it's just his off field past is now part of his on field life

Yeah but I can't remember any other Prem footballers who have punched somebody while playing football (when the ball was out of play no less), and then asked for a hand/blowjob from another footballer in the space of their entire career, that's just what he's done in the last few weeks. He hasn't changed. He's trying really hard to give the impression he has, maybe he should accept himself for who he is, pretending never lasts that long

Think Barca might be willing to let Alves go tbh, he hasn't played well for quite some time now..
Its just masked by the fact Barca are still dominating everyone infront of them.

I don't rate Alves, no better than Richards in my opinion. He's a slightly better Glen Johnson. Decent going forward but no consideration of what's behind him.

Alves isn't the best defender but he's really quick and has amazing stamina which gets him out of a lot of trouble. He's also really, really important to the way that Barca play and they'd really miss him if he left. It's difficult to say if he'd be as good at somewhere like City. He's at the perfect club and would be stupid to leave, it'd be a move which both him and Barca would regret imo

Can't be worse then the ones at City who passed Santa Cruz :p

g I have also heard West Ham will beat stoke to the signature of Stephen Ireland
You don't want Ireland. I have said all along he had a great 2009? and never played well after and then when he left us i remember a few on here claiming we were 'stupid' to sell him and it seems that i was right considering he can't even get in the Villa side.

Alves i am not sure on tbh, i think i would prefer Zabaleta who has been excellent this year. If however he is offered to us then Mancini will bid for him.

Curious question, not sure where to put it. But has anything happened to Real Madrid in terms of their two second yellows in their final Champs League group game?

woodgate going out on loan to get some games apparently
keane to west ham has fallen through though but i was thinking maybe if we loaned woodgate to west ham it could be re-ignited?

How can you not rate alves?

He's actually not to bad at defending and amazing going forwards and as stated above has incredible stamina that dude does not stop running, ever!

Also finished last season with the 2nd highest amount of assists in the league, just behind Xavi on 10 (Xavi 14).

Anyone know much about Bayern Leverkusen (sp?) gk - R.Adler ? rumours Utd might have him on the list along with Reina (nice dream but will never happen) and Neuer

Adler was due to go to the wc but got a rib injury which discounted him?
