IIRC Wolfsburg wanted 35m, to which we said no. Now its down to more like the 25m mark, doubt we'll ever know the exact figure though. And they'll add on wages + all other bonuses + some made up numbers until he costs more than Ronaldo. Lot of murmurs about this being all but a done deal for a while though.

Very excited. Going to be one helluva strike force.
 
it just gets sillier and sillier, it is ruining the game, how can anyone compete with this.

I thought they were bringing in a rule, where you can only spend what you earn, man city no way earn what they spend.

Same way we couldn't compete with United all those years? Its not ruining football, it is football.

Funny you mention the fair play rules. Thought up by the very type of people they've been designed to stop. Can't have too many joining the select club now can we?

Even in those years Utd still only spent what was coming into the club - and wages are usually less than 60% of total net income
 
Liverpool being linked to Carlton Cole again. Pretty obvious from the type of players we're being linked to that Hodgson has absolutely no interest in moving away from the route one football that has become such an embarrassment to the club over the last few months :(
 
Seriously, he'll bag you a hat trick one game and not score for the rest of the season. The fact that up to last week, he had never scored more than one goal per game for us says it all.

Personally, I think the types of fans we have hinder his performances. He get's booed when coming on as a sub, even after putting 2 against Man United and Fulham. Some "supporters".

At the right club, he could shine.

EDIT:

Stoke sign Jermaine Pennant on a permanent from Real Zaragoza. 2.5 year deal at initial £1.725m Fee.

According to an "In the know" at a West Ham forum I frequent:

-Abdoulaye Faye to West Ham
-Upson to Sunderland
-Piqiuonne to Aston Villa
-Boa Morte to a US based team
-Stoke/Spurs sniffing around Carlton Cole.

Liverpool in for Parker :o

Sylvain Marveaux and Robert Huth were @ Anfield tonight.
Two terrible players .. ugh :(

Although. Sylvain Marveaux is apparently only 1.5m , and at least would be more effective then Cole has been.
