True, De Laet is a useful backup in that he can play anywhere along the back 4.

King looked promising from his late carling cup appearance last year, I'd like to see him get another go if we get an easy-ish cup match.

Should get Carroll for around 20 mill. Bargain.

He's light years ahead of most of the premier forwards already, and will only improve further given his age.

And Man Utd only have 2 forwards of any note, the rest are lightweight.
 
Rumour is that the Moaning one is going to try and lure Fabregas away:p....hey thats fine, just give us £80+mill and you can gladly have him:p....saying that we wouldnt use that money to strengthen our squad as Wenger has made it clear hes not looking to buy in Jan:( and even if he did, he would only go and buy some unknown player who hasnt proved themselves in the big leagues.

Oh well i can only but hope that Wenger does something about our defence at some point ie get rid of Kos and Squillacci as the pair of them are inept at the best of times and have cost us quite a few games/points.

Good player but I don't think he'd suit us at the moment. There's other areas we need to strengthen (although unless someone special shows up I think summer is the right time for that).

Don't entirely agree with that. He's had a great start to the season no doubt, but like Bale, a few defences have already shown how to keep him quiet. He's very suited to Newcastles current 'hoof it to Caroll' strategy, but he'd have to fit into a different system at United. Would be sticking with Hernandez every day of the week.

Give Caroll a season, see how he grows. Young players improving with age is anything from a certainty. I'd be looking at a replacement for Scholes way, way before Andy Caroll.
 
Midfielders are what United need, big powerful athletic midfielders who can put their mark on a game or just a complete *******.

If Roy Keane in his prime had been playing for united this season I would think a good three quarters of those away draws would have been wins.

I can't believe the state of our midfield atm.

I don't actually think there is anybody out injured and I've not been able to say that in years.

Saying that if Ramsey does return then please god let him get rid of Diaby.

Edit- stand corrected. He's injured his calf again.

More info from a reliable source.
We'r dealing with Villa for A. Young, but it seems unlikely due to the clubs unwillingness to sell and the players wage demands.

City have offered us Adebayor but want £20m .. that and his attitude have us thinking its unlikely.

Sylvain Marveaux has cold feet after our game vs wolves but the feeling is we can still push the deal through .. squad player at best though.

Finally - Negotiations for Robert Huth are moving along, but there's another big PL team also negotiating with more money then we have so not looking likely.
 
Would have liked Fulham to try sign him, make a good deal from shirts.

Wonder if theres any truth in us having £5m rejected for Bendtner?
