I remember those games when Henry made Man United look like non-league players :p

Unbelievable player, pure class, obviously won't be the same any more but still have a lot of respect and admiration for the guy.

Wasn't there some suggest that one of the reasons Wenger was willing to let Henry go to begin with was because he felt Henry's presence was harming the development of the team? I'm pretty sure that Taggart mentioned that he believed Henry's sale would benefit Arsenal for that very reason too.

I thought it was fairly common knowledge actually, which does make this move a bit curious.

West Ham supposedly signing Corluka in loan and have also triggered Billy Sharp's release clause (1.85m)...so much for teams losing money when getting relegated, they're really wanting out of the division!

Also Smith is being released from Newcastle and another big spending team, Ipswich are wanting him. No doubt the Leeds rumours will surface though.

lol, i don't know where that rumour came from, its tosh, or an excuse.

henry wanted to leave, nothing more or less and as with several other players Wenger seemingly made the "give me one more year and I'll let you go easily next year" deal.

Look at Vieira, Henry, Fabregas deals, pretty much turning down higher fee's for all players involved, getting another year out of them and selling them easily the next year. Wenger has a habit of screwing Arsenal in that way, beg a player to stay assuming he'll have a great year and the player will actually want to stay, then letting them leave as previously agreed and doing so for way less than market value each time :(

Sorry but, great players who both teach other players and improve the quality of players the kids train against does not harm team developement. A great player who is also a complete trouble maker and crap stirrer can, Henry is not that type of player, nor even close.

AS said, if it was true it would be utterly illogical to let him come back to train let along sign.

What other "big name" players who are older have we had train with Arsenal, Henry previously, Pires, Sol, Beckham....... getting rid of your best player because he's harming the team developement............. lol.

He can bring the experience of actually winning something, not many in the arsenal squad have that experience.

Interesting thought - in general I would agree with you (and is Utd's main advantage over City), but with Henry not winning anything in England for 8 years (?), does this knowledge/experience have to be more current to be of major significance........

He is a great /fabulous player without question, but even when Henry was with Arsenal they werent winning things regularly (yes a couple of doubles if my memory isnt failing incl the invincibles) - and does one single player (who wont play that much in the short time he is at the club) who will have left prior to the really pivotal point of the season count for that much?

3 or 4 players joining with that kind of knowledge , signing permanently, would be a much bigger advantage than just their individual skills etc.

.

Complete tosh - esp about Fabregas and Henry (cant remember where vieira ended up) but Barca had all the cards in those two negotiations to start with. Febragas always wanted to end up there, and whats more he barely won anything with Arsenal either compared to the undisputed best team on the planet. Three factors at least worked against Arsenal - He desperately wanted to leave, He was going back to Spain, and they desperately wanted him back (there was also a query about their finances, I know there shouldnt have been and could just have been "pr", but how much money did they actually have to spend?) - not to mention that Fab has been wanting to leave for years - it was always going to work badly for Arsenal after not winning anything for ages.

Henry was a bit of clearer case (from Arsenal's point of view) but even so Henry was the centre of the team at that point, Arsene HAD to keep him otherwise severely risk CL spots in the next season) - even though Thierry was obviously on the wane already

I suppose there is a slight difference in that this Arsenal side is fairly experienced and they shouldn't be overawed by Henry's presence.

I doubt Henry will have an ego either since he's not the best player at the club and he's matured/calmed down significantly too

West Ham supposedly signing Corluka in loan

decent player, deserves football ........ hang on, what if walker gets injured or suspended, redknapp?

keane not being loaned out to anyone from LA though, he's training with us ...... yay. point.shout.repeat.

The Club can confirm that Robbie Keane will train with the First Team squad up until January 20 in order to build up his fitness ahead of returning to LA Galaxy for the start of the new MLS season

Keane was an excellent servant of the club, I have no problem with him training with Spurs.

Regarding Corluka, if he does go I assume we will play Kaboul at RB with Dawson/Samba? providing CB cover if Walker is unavailable.

Corluka's starting to make similar noises to Pav about wanting to leave unless he gets his game which is understandable as they are both getting on.

I hope we dont bid for Adebayor after his loan spell.

I think he'll be okay. He obviously won't be beating people for pace, but as long as our link-up play is good I don't doubt he'll get himself into good positions and nab a few goals.

Judging by Arsenals finishing from the last few games (I'm looking at you, Theo) hopefully Henry can pop up with some goals.

There are many opinions on this loan move, but it will be good to see him playing in the premiership again, even for a short while. IMO he was one of the best premiership players ever.

He's going to get such a massive ovation when he makes his first loan appearance. Out of interest are there any other clubs in the English leagues who have a statue of a player who currently plays for them?

No need for Samba at spurs...

Kaboul
King
Dawson
Gallas

Even if bassong leaves we will be fine. Next year Caulker will be back from Swansea and he has looked tidy

Also why on earth would we not want Ade on a perm deal? He is a quality player, suits us down to the ground!

Good! I think he is on about £50k a week too and from memory Ive only every seen him have one decent game for us! Whats more worrying is who else follows him out of the door!!

Hurry up and get here 1st February :D

Any News about Spurs signing Mihailov from Twente? I know there were rumours they were interested...

No idea whether Spurs are in for him but I'm pretty sure Liverpool have a hefty sell-on clause as part of his deal to join Twente.

I'm surprised he's still alive. The Bulgarian mafia were after him a year or so ago.
