Yet somehow we end up in a crisis every season and have to stick midfielders at the back.
Theoretically MU shouldn't need to buy a defender since they have:
Evra
Fabio
Rio
Vidic
Jones
Evans
Rafael
Smalling
That means they are covered in all positions.
Theoretically MU shouldn't need to buy a defender since they have:
Evra - Losing it more and more Doesn't get injured often
Fabio - Made of glass Not that long back from injury
Rio - Getting on a bit, but still first choice In and out of the medical room
Vidic - Heman Not long back from injury
Jones - A great option, no problems
Evans - Shouldn't be ahead of Smalling / Jones, has his moments
Rafael - Same as his brother, glass Just back from a long lay off
Smalling - Coming along well as well as Jones Injured
That means they are covered in all positions.
Depends if you think that playing centre backs out of position at RB is a feasible solution for the (or one of) the richest clubs in the world really doesnt it?
Theoretically MU have Rafael and Fabio as RBs so playing CBs there should only happen as backup. If Fergie chooses to do so when they are fit then presumably it is because he thinks it is feasible.
Plenty of rich/good clubs have done similar things in the past, Chelsea (effectively richest club in the world at the time) played Gallas at LB quite often for example and won back-to-back league titles doing so, all time record points haul, seemed pretty feasible to me![]()
Rumors of NDJ stalling on a new contract, no surprise given his agent is Kia.
Would be sad to see him go but isn't irreplaceable and if he isn't willing to drop I assume huge demands and Kia as his 'advisor' then Mancini might look at selling him. Especially considering how fantastic the midfield is playing.
