I don't think Tiote will make it at a top club. His distribution is really hit and miss. His passing is at times laughable. He's really good at winning the ball back though, you just need more than that about you to play for the likes of Man Utd. I guess he could improve that aspect of his game in years to come but it's not up to standard at the moment.

Old 'Arry talking up Demba Ba and a possible release clause.

Only release clause I can think of is a relegation one again :D

Arry really needs a kick in the stones. He the worse at unsettling players than cries his eyes out when it happens to him

Having not really paid too much attention to Carrick since he left Spurs, is he still quality at getting the ball and passing it sideways? That was what he was notorious for at the lane.

The Times and a few other places are reporting that Liverpool and City are battling it out for Birmingham's 17 year old winger Nathan Redmond, with Birmingham demanding up to £12m for him.

I've not seen much of him so I've got no idea whether he's worth it but the reports are also saying that neither City or ourselves are willing to pay that much for him.

Redmond is a great talent and can only improve. I knew sooner or later there was gonna be interest from premier league clubs. I've see him play in the Europa league for us and his got a great touch and looks confident on the ball. I am not just saying this because I'm a blues fan but I think it's best for him to stay at Birmingham at develop his game more, and remember his not even 18. On the other hand we need money so if a big offer came, the club will most likely take it.

You do realise his distribution was excellent against Utd, as it usually is?

From someone who thinks Song is brilliant, to say Tiote's distribution is questionable is almost beyond belief.

Its like the same people who say the same thing about Diarra...... couldn't be more wrong.

Firstly both of their passing is good, secondly, the reason they give away the ball more is they don't pass it safely backwards at every opportunity to get their pass completion rate up.

Song gets the ball and passes it sideways or backwards most of the time, these are "safe" passes, and he still screws them up. Tiote and Diarra both get the ball and pass forwards to get the team moving forwards on a counter attack. Wilshire was the same last year, he gave the ball away more because he actually tried to play "real" football rather than this safe sideways crap that so many woeful defensive midfielders spend their time doing these days.

Most of the best DM's at the most successful teams in the world were never afraid to lose the ball by passing forwards, Makelele, Gilberto, Edu, Vieira(when he was the less offensive player in midfield), Busquets, Yaya, Keane, Parker, even Lucas isn't that bad in that sense. While you've got other DM's who "win" the ball and then spend half an hour getting the ball 3 metres sideways while the oppositions defence has got back and your own offence is standing around wondering where the ball is.

Tiote has played excellently for what, 2 years, against the best teams in this league, but you think he couldn't play for those best teams...... makes perfect sense.

Well there's Lucas, he's certainly not box to box in the sense that he gets involved in the final 3rd and gets goals and assists. There's also Mikel but he's crap and has seemingly been ousted by Romeu who tbh has the ability to be whatever he wants.

Romeu is probably the perfect type of player for us tbh, not an out and out defensive midfielder but more of a holding player with a good passing range. Basically a younger Carrick with a lot more potential. Problem for Chelsea with him though is he's already talking about going back to Barca

I had forgotten about Mikel to be honest (what a lucky escape for Utd that was :D)

Do seem to be fewer strict DM's around, and its understandable imo with the bigger clubs requiring more versatility from their players (or seemingly)

Who wouldnt consider going back to Barca arriving at Chelsea in some turmoil currently (or certainly not performing how they should be)

Thought Henry was a bit of a random signing at first but had forgotton about the ACoN (which of lolworthy note is also going to take place in 2013) so with Gervinho heading off for the x weeks plus standard recovery time he should slot in nicely without too much disruption to the teams playing style.

Not too much change to the teams playing style? How crap do you think Henry is that Arsenal will play the same with Gervinho and Henry.

Gervinho has been utter, utter, utter gash, having someone good for two months will be a god send.... unless of course Henry turns out to be past it.

Honestly I don't know how good he is, I watch way too much football as it is, can't keep up with MLS games as well. I have no doubt he could still be brilliant, he was vastly under rated in his time at Barca. But if he's spent 2 years barely putting in any effort, not playing against decent sides and barely trying he simply won't be sharp or have form and maybe not the right fitness level.

If he were coming for 6 months or a year or two I think he'd have every chance of gaining some form and sharpness and be great. Over two months, it really depends what level he was playing at before the loan.

Either way, even barely trying and just cashing checks in the MLS, he can't be anything but a large improvement over Gervinho......

So far regarding bent we have Signed him not signed him and then been told we havent contacted him and signed him again today gotta love twitter it does entertain atleast.

Im hoping we do sign a striker this window and another left winger plenty of time left yet atleast

Gervinho is ****ing awful though, you only have to watch him to see that, he's technically terrible and has the decision making of Walcott, even when he does something productive it looks accidental :p

True, but there is a small chance Torres actually gets better. Not sure i can say the same for Carroll :p

Well thats partly true it seems though that Carroll in his last 3 games when Gerrard has crossed him ball he has better chances to score still misses mind, So hopefully Gerrard can get best out of him like he did Torres :p

Torres should never of left us though imo :(
