Bily is nearly gone, probably get announced later on today or tomorrow. Saha tweeted saying good luck to him a little while a go.

Looks like Chelsea are set to complete an £8m deal for Genk winger Kevin De Bruyne with him staying on loan with them until the summer.

Sad but true.

Norwich are ridiculously over achieving, unless they spend big in the summer I can see them really struggling next season. It's like Hull City all over again.

Good luck to Howson, never did I see him good enough for the Prem! But then neither did I think Johnson was and he's doing well.

(Awaits the Stoke supporter coming in saying his usual stuff :p)

Delia will have to release a few more books and pump some cash in won't she lol

Hold the back page, Wigan signing a player

Nicky Maynard

WHO?

Martinez getting ready for the drop, no doubt.

Maynard is streets ahead of those two players (Scotland, Sammon), surprised you've not heard of him but believe it or not there are a lot of players in the championship streets ahead of Wigan's players

Bristol Citys 2nd best player (Adhoma being the best). Fast striker, will be a bit like Beckford in the prem. Good one off's but week in week out he probably won't be all that. We were linked with him but after seeing him at the home game I wasn't all that impressed, a reasonable performance from our 2 cb's had him struggling bit, he only scored from a keeper mistake.

Just more likely to score than Wigan's other strikers at the moment.

3rd best now, as Chris Wood is on loan from WBA. On current form he's well below that as well.

On his day he's a bloody good player and can score goals like this,

For me though he lacks too much to be a Premeriership striker, his movement is terrible, he can't head a ball, his passing isn't great, he's quick, but only in an out and out race, often gets outpaced by slow defenders because his anticipation is so poor. The only thing he has going is that he can score wonder goals like the one at QPR, but he won't get the tap ins because he's almost always in the wrong place.

All a bit moot anyway as he's turned Wigan down and now they are denying ever making an offer

Toon had a bid refused for Mariappa the Watford cb/rb. Didn't see that one coming, was expecting them to go after Peters again.

Anyone any idea what Mariappa is like?

Good, get the season over with and sign him up even cheaper :D

Completely forgot about Chris Wood! Saw him when he was on loan at Brum at the start of the season, he should be very good if he learns how to beat people on the edge of the box as his shot is stupidly powerful!

Maynard summed up nicely though (even if he got a tap in against saints but I think that was because he was the first to react to a ball we all thought the keeper could hang on too).

Other transfer news this week Saints have loaned Falque from Spurs and officially signed Tandari Lee on a free! (actually pleased about that)

And the idiot that is Jason Puncheon has apologised to the the team, club and management for his behaviour of the last 18 months and back with the squad! (bit like a transfer) Which is comical and made on the same day :)

Can't understand why City would keep Savic and let Onuoha go, he'd be fairly capable backup and homegrown to boot.

I caught about 20 minutes of the first half last night and Savic was a ball of nerves. Not sure that I have seen him play well once...

The commentators were relentless and he didn't look good, but he was repeatedly given woeful passes to put him under pressure. There was a throw in someone gave him with bellamy right next to him before it even got thrown, suicidal throw and basically not at all Savic's fault.

He's young and he really did look nervous, but Koralov and Lescott seemed to constantly put him under needless pressure which just made it worse.

You've also got to factor in him knowing how poorly the team has been performing lately and the fact that the defence will be under pressure again, and how little the front men kept the ball all factors into how the defence played.

Mancini is becoming laughable though, Nasri and Silva on the wings literally does not work, both prefer to work as free roles and both will do so even if told to play the wings, neither likes to run to the corners and cross, and Silva in particular but Nasri also don't really like beating their man or driving past people, neither have any real pace to talk of either.

Silva both gave away the ball loads and passed backwards too easily when a little fight or turning and driving forwards would have done so much for the team.

JOhnson is a wasteful selfish pratt but having the defence peddling backwards, pushing Liverpool back and he might have got a goal or forced Reina to spill a shot that someone else could stab in.

You can't put out a 5 man midfield with zero forward drive, no pace, no balls(except in the defensive midfielder.... who incidentally was basically the only threat from midfield, which is an embarrassment).
