There's possibly some truth in the Mirror's story from yesterday saying we want Tevez on loan. Tony Barrett's going to have a story in tomorrows Times saying we're interested in taking him on loan if City have a late change of heart about loaning him out.

As I said yesterday, providing they're paying a large chunk of his wages, I'd have Tevez for a few months on loan. I can't see it happening though, even if City do allow it, I'd imagine he'd end up in Italy still.

West Ham are in for Lambert apparently :o

And pigs will fly... ;) or you'll get Tevez on a free...

Billy Sharp and quick is a new one :p

He's an out an out 5 yard finisher player, will get onto all crosses and score the odd spectacular goal. Can't see him getting onto many flick ons from the big fella up front, that's why I wasn't sure it will work that well.

He maybe replacing Lambert?!!!

5 yard finisher will do nicely! Our entire game plan is based on "work it into the box" so someone who can slam home a few from 5 yards instead of spoon it over will help a lot (Guly has had the most chances spooned over in the last few games)

No one replaces Ricky Lambert Southampton's goal machine! One of the most surprisingly versatile strikers iv seen in ages.

Well, Our owners son tweeted that we're hopeful of signing the Championship's top scorer :)

In all honesty I don't see it happening, he is key to the team, the manager loves him and we have no good reason to sell (unless West Ham are going to magic an unholy amount of money for him, Ipswich enquired at the start of the season and were laughed out the building)

I dont understand why West Ham have been shouting about getting every striker in the known universe, are Cole, Pinnoque, Baldock, Carew, Sears and Nouble not enough?

Apparently West Ham have bid for Beckford, 35k per week wasted there...

To be fair, Piquoinne and Carew just haven't showed up this season. Piq has 2 in 20 something games. We're openly touting them and Piq almost went to Wolves. Sears hasn't been given the chance and Nouble has gone on loan, come back and scored when he was started. Yet, we haven't seen him since. So in all honestly, it's Cole and Baldock left. Cole has a knee injury. From what I know, it's one of those he'll have to deal with by resting properly after every game, no real solution just management of the knee (similar to that of Ledley King). Taking that into consideration, we really don't have much.

I'm not so keen on Beckford, he's still a fairly risky buy. Whenever I see him play he never seems that confident.

Lambert suites out style of play though. I agree on your point, i don't see it happening myself. If it did go through, it'd be a bit of a coup.

EDIT: West Ham are close to signing Ravel Morrison!

Sears got a few goes in the prem! Thought he he looked pretty good (nippy not bad on the ball) silly he hasn't had a go if Piq is as bad as we all knew. Didn't realise Cole was out massively so i guess another striker would be needed, just difficult to see who the best target is.

Beckford against an utterly useless Southampton last monday looked like the most over payed and useless player in the champ, by a mile. He is stupidly fast but as what I can only describe as negative ability on the ball, carved us open repeatedly on the left and right (we had our 4th choice rb in and the 4th choice cb) only to shoot it into nothing, clear it for us or trip over his own feet. He's apparently on 35k a week which is just shocking.

Lambert used to be a midfielder and is amazingly versatile, would quite easily fit into most teams. Him going would be several up from a coup, nearly nearly as season ticket burning type moment (especially if its less than 20m)

Does in playing terms but ultimately not financially ;)

Moses made some good points last night. Tevez playing regular football would protect (and maybe improve) his transfer value. Another 6 months sitting on the bench or playing golf wouldn't.

I can fully understand City's stance as I've said before though. Tevez shouldn't be allowed to leave on his terms, but a move to somebody other than Milan, wouldn't be on his terms.

Everton, being the most active team in the transfer window?

What is this madness?

It was all part of Kenwright's master plan. Let all the other clubs blow their money and then wait for the market to die down and Everton's £2.25 would go a bit further.

Lol, City caring about finances.
Well when you have FFP which will likely only be forced on us you have to.

I agree it is best for him to leave to whoever but i am just saying he won't because Khaldoon won't back down. The sole reason he didn't go to PSG was because Kia hadn't organised it and he only went to Paris for the free lunch and to be courteous towards the officials.

It was reported the other day... Arsene confirmed it as well I think. I did post about it in the banter thread.

Any way... special offer this summer, Fellaini, Rodwell, Jags and Baines all on offer min. £20m each. Who's wants one?

Nobody, they'll wait until Everton start getting desperate for cash and then offer £12-15m.

Matt Tubbs has signed for Bournemouth, £800k. Decent striker in the lower leagues, just a shame Salisbury got into financial difficulties so had to let him go to Crawley a couple of years back as had he stayed there I could have seen them maybe sneaking into League Two by now.
