No **** Wenger, of course you should be worried..we are 7 pts behind Spurs in the race for 4th spot and all you can do is sit there and worry???
Worried, lol, he was just banging on about a wasted opportunity because with Utd playing as badly as they have done and being top, we had a shot at the title... this isn't completely untrue, Utd and City are there for the taking, but its less about us doing better, and more about the multiple teams who should have beaten them, got a decent lead and threw it away. Utd have put in very rare 90 min performances, but ultimately they've been better for long enough spells to outscore the other team.
Another season and less luck for UTd and they'd have lost 3-4 more games at least, maybe a few more than that, with the constant going behind and dropping stupid goals.
But Arsenal's squad is flat out not good enough to have taken the title, and if we had a better squad this would be a season Utd are vunerable(not least because if we had a title capable squad right now RVP wouldn't have left and Utd would be struggling a hell of a lot more). This season Utd have gotten worse yet again as a team but RVP is covering the decline. Fact is our squad is getting to be pathetic because of Wenger, he bought Giroud over Ba, despite costing significantly more and having at his age, a really poor history, one decent season in the french top flight is... unimpressive.
The fact that Wenger would actually go on record as saying he chose Giroud over Ba is ridiculous, free transfer, 3mil agent fee's, 40-60k a week he was on at Newcastle, instead we gave a similar wage and a 10mil fee to get Giroud...... At worst, we would have signed him he would have agreed to a FAR bigger release clause at a top 4 club, and someone would have snapped him up and we'd get 15-20mil for him from Chelsea... not a bad piece of business, at 3mil agent fee's even if he'd flopped, there is little risk there and would have cost around 10mil less than Giroud(after signing on bonus, agent fee's there).
To a large degree the whole league is falling apart defensively and a great striker can make all the difference, thats always been the case but more so when even the top of the table is leaking goals like crazy... so we get Giroud, the year after we buy the flop of Gervinho, and instead give Mata level wages to Walcott....
Yeah, we apparently didn't offer the extra few mil to match Chelsea because we couldn't match wages, and a couple years later, here we are giving those same wages to Theo ******* Walcott. If Mata is on 100-120k, Walcott is worth 15k on the same scale.
When you give Walcott huge wages rather than give it to Mata, the manager has to go...
