January Transfer Window 2012/2013 Season Rumours/Signings

Deja ****ing vu!! He came out saying a couple of weeks ago (can't find the source) that prices always fall at the end of the window. So as usual, we will wait till the end of the window, find out we can't sign the players we won't as we're not willing to pay the extra £10 that the selling club wants and so panic and buy absolute ****. (see Santos and Park).

But don't worry because we have a new signings in Theo 'I'm so good,I have to tackle myself because no one else can' Walcott and Abou Diaby. In addition to the team's great character, mental strength, togetherness, desire, blah blah ****ing blah.

If this team gets 4th place at the expense of Spurs then AVB should be sacked because it will take another major implosion of epic proportions on their behalf for Arsenal to get 4th.

Edit: For some reason, I still think we'll get 4th place

Im not so sure tbh, last season we had RVP banging in the goals for us and he helped us win some pretty important games. But it also helped that the Spurs imploded spectacularly near the end of the season for us to get 3rd place.

This season?? im not so sure anymore. Mainly because we cant beat the big teams and we seem to struggle and drop points against teams that we should in all honesty be battering the holy hell out of. Also coupled with the fact that Spurs look to be a much better side than we are, i can see us in Europa and then that will become our 4th trophy for the next few yrs;):p:D

Spurs fan here.

Out of interest, do you think you would have made the Champions League without RVP last season?

Arsene thought his team was 'nearly there' last season, but were carried by RVP and imo is the only reason they made 4th. Without him this season, it's majorly highlighted how poor a team they are.

I can't help but think you'll finish below Everton and Liverpool this season as well. Surely he would HAVE to get the sack then?

What do you think??...last season RVP literally carried the team...its no wonder he wanted out as Wenger can no longer be trusted to buy some decent ****ing world class players that we so desperately need. He says it in the media that he wants to but as of yet he hasnt but what he does every yr is sell our best players ie Fabregas and RVP to name but 2.

As for Wenger getting the sack?? dont be silly, Arsenal wont sack him as they know just how good he is financially for Arsenal;). Gazidis and co havent got a ****ing clue on how to run a club so that they win trophies, what they do know is how to run a club from a business perspective, which is all good but not so good when we cant even compete for trophies.

As far as i can see, Wenger isnt going anywhere...he will go when HE feels its right to go ie he will leave on his terms.

Heres another classic quote from Wenger;)

'I don’t question the players’ character. The attitude is fantastic. They do care. They want to do well and are focused. Maybe they are a bit too respectful in the big games of other teams. That is what we have to change.'

Jesus ****ing christ on a stick Wenger!!!, you dont question the players character??? why the hell not??. Do these players care?? im not so sure seeing as we play like a division 3 side at times:p You should be questioning the players character because its costing us points in games that we need to win.

Compare that to Gervinho, Giroud, and our back up players of Diaby, Santos, Coquelin.

YOu might not rate Huddlestone much, or Livermore, or Dempsey and several others, but you have more depth than we do, you have less injury prone players, you've just gone half the season with Parker missing only to come back and be very good straight away.

Arsenal used to have depth, now we have an injury list, players who laughably call them footballers and a couple actually great players Wenger has refused to use for 2 years or more...... if Wilshire, Verm, Chesney, get injured we are completely shafted.

i take your point but look what happened last season. i do feel we have more belief though. it's strange, something's definiitely changing at tottenham. if we were firing on all cylinders in attack, i'd be way more confident but the spine of our team is actually pretty good probably the best i've ever known it when it comes to getting the job done in all honesty.

we're 3 or 4 players away from cementing a place in the top 4 imo.

That's what I'm saying though... If they don't make Champions League for next season, the whole 'We are financially sound' factor won't happen as it's their main source of revenue

was everyone else as happy to see Walcott, after a goal and a new contract suddenly in the press acting like the captain, questioning everyones elses confidence/belief, banging on about his tough life with having contract issues weighing on his shoulders. Yeah, life must be so hard when your agent pretends there is interest in other club to get a gullible manager to offer a wage 5 times more than you're worth... oh the agony that is Walcott's life, I feel soooo bad for him.

Its his attitude that makes me sick, every time we win a game, suddenly we have Walcott, used to be Song, Sagna, certain players who act like they've won a title if they win 2 games in a row, its so clear which players think they are hugely better than everyone else, have an inflated sense of self importance and make very little effort to improve. Its that kind of attitude which is really really hurting Arsenal as a team, Walcott got a goal therefore he was great against Chelsea and he has to question everyone else. He did one useful thing in 90 mins and if he'd done more maybe we'd have been less **** in the first half.

Wenger saying players don't have an attitude problem, just one of the MANY reasons Arsenal fans should wake up to the fact he's lost his marbles.

AS for running the club financially well, we aren't, I wish people would stop propagating false information. Profit != brilliant and loss != terrible, with no other possibilities.

For a 143mil squad, how much better we've done than Everton or Spurs on 60-80mil squads is, embarrassingly poorly. If we'd gotten 4th ahead of those two every year spending the same, or maybe 10mil more that would be good, spending 50-60mil more to achieve very very little extra is infact nothing short of woeful. If we do lose 4th this year, Wenger will have spent 50mil more than Spurs... to do worse. If we'd spend 50mil less on wages, we'd have 50mil more profit, Wenger had little to nothing to do with the stadium, its just nice to pretend he did.

DId he ask the board to invest in a new stadium maybe, would EVERY manager alive have suggested the same thing, YES, without question. Would any manager who was in charge while the design was being discussed be consulted on design of changing rooms and the like, without question. The Arsenal board decided to build a new stadium, because it would mean more profits, more revenue, more income, Wenger didn't build it himself, pay for it, or have any say in the decision, Arsenal have a vastly higher turnover, and not much higher profits, because Wenger is spending most of the extra income, and spending it badly.

I can't remember the last player we bought that wasn't a bad deal, Vermaelen maybe, Jenks(though he won't play him). He's thrown away quite literally 100's of millions in the past 5-6 years, on player transfer and wages that basically haven't helped the club at all.

To sum that up, the board made a shrewd financial decision to get a bigger stadium, that stadium, the fans paying for tickets, the guys working the concession stands, are all mean Arsenal are making vastly more than they used to... then comes the team, Wenger is peeing that money down the drain every year.

The financial strength of the club is fans paying tickets, marketing, tv money, things that essentially have nothing to do with Wenger at all, the things Wenger controls, transfer spending, wage spending, make the club look embarrassingly poor. There isn't a club in Europe who spends as much as us while winning nothing in almost 8 years, we are the single most wasteful, least successful club spending over 100mil in wages around, even Liverpool won a cup that we couldn't, while spending less on wages.

Walcott played the through ball for Giroud to miss a sitter just before Chelsea scored the first. So should have had a goal and an assist. Not saying he played great but he was better than most on the team, he doesn't deserve the constant **** he gets.

Im not having this story about Reina to United at all in any way shape or form. I know a lot of Liverpool fans through their rose tinted spec's over egg him into something he is not. Im proably as guilty with my anti scouse googles but is Reina really all that. I personally don't see him any better or worse than Barthez. Happy to be proved wrong on where he excels mind

Doubt Reina would go to UTD anyway that being said he has been more error prone in the last two seasons many supporters deny it though too blinded. UTD Should use De Gea he is a quality keeper and will get better just Fergie treats him like crap i remeber when he first started half the people bashed him for errors the defense were making which caused half the issues granted not all but he got all the blame whilst Evra/Rio etc caused half of them if not more

Surprised so many are actually discussing this Reina rumour, lets be honest if Fergie was going to buy a keeper A- it would be someone who hasn't made more mistakes than the current number 1 over the last 2 years and B- like Liverpool are ever going to sell any player to Man Utd (and vice versa)

If Reina's going to go anywhere I would suspect it would be to Barcelona to replace Valdes, in fact that's something I'm fairly sure will happen (no source or anything can just see it happening)

In actual transfer news;

Sheffield Wednesday's Chris Lines joins the Sheffield Wednesday reserves (also known as MK Dons) :o.

BBC Link.

Annnnnd;

Dave Jones is 'frustrated'.

Sheffield Wednesday boss Dave Jones says he is struggling to bring in a striker in the January transfer window.

BBC Link.

It will never happen, but will still be interesting to see Liverpool's attempt to get revenge for the Heinze fiasco years ago lol

Im not sure Reina would want to come to Utd anyway, so there probably wont be any traction to start with

We have apparently cut our price down to 23m Euros for Balotelli and AC are going to go ahead and make a formal offer.

His agent was seen at AC today although he is also the agent of Robinho so it doesn't necessarily mean he was there about Mario.

Reina has been in poor form for 3 seasons now, but saying that I can see him at Barca quite easily. Hopefully we'll get some change out of it :D

Reina was amazing in Rafas last year, he also wasn't that poor under roy, not until the coaching had set in.

Was pretty bad at times under Kenny.

Looked better this year after a shakey start.

Also he is miles better than Barthez Loki :D

If he goes United ill never post here again

Reports that Ayre has flown to Milan to try and get Coutinho signed, so we'll probably end up with a crate of italian sausage and Zanetti.
Zanetti is a quality player, even at 40.
It will never happen for so many reasons.

I'm truly shocked to see DM mention Michu again talking about transfers.

Michu has signed a new 1 year deal with Swansea. :D
