Certainly changed his tune.

Obertan :D

People say whatever is on their mind at the time, think about it and change their mind.

Of course he was talking about at the time a team with like 3 English guys in it, was that before we had Ramsey and Wilshire, so it was basically Walcott and, I can't remember who else off the top of my head. He didn't have a point but a team with 11 frenchies and 14 other players in the squad + youth players with a bunch of them English isn't really comparable to a team with like 1 or 2 English guys in... for the sake of that point. In reality, its a stupid point, English, French, German, who cares, football is football, I watch the game, not the passports of the players.

As for FFP, Newcastle won't have any trouble, sure 6.5 years means the roughly 6.5mil fee is amortised over the length of the contract but 1mil or, 1.5mil on a shorter contract, these aren't sums that will screw Newcastle. If they lose cash at this stage it will be very small amounts, WELL under the limit you'd be allowed, and things like being sensible having a plan, showing efforts to get finances under control all count, things Newcastle have done extremely well in lately.

Who knows why the longer contract, potentially to make a better case for a higher fee when he's sold. I don't know ultimately longer contracts give the club more negotiating power, and players seem less willing to sign such long contracts, I don't know if thats a good or bad sign, IE player knows he ain't good enough, and got the longest deal he could because he knows he'll be found out kinda thing, where as a player who thinks Newcastle is a stepping stone has more options in a few years with a shorter contract. Huge deals are pretty rare these days.

newts, you got a list of players for Newcastle who would count towards the 8 homegrown? I imagine you have 8 but, without a heck of a lot of quality. This is ultimately why Zaha's, Walcotts are going for so much, its pretty easy to go find 17 decent players when you have the whole world to choose from, but getting the last 8 from a very limited pool of players being trained in the "English" way, (run hard, kick them, lose :p ). Its all very well jumping on deals for frenchies, but at some stage to be really good you need to either get some younger players coming through very very quickly, some very young foreign kids signed asap or you end up spending big on English talent. I'm trying to think of a single English player you've got whose worth keeper, Ameobi's, nope, Simpson, closest to being worth it as back up, most likely to leave AFAIK. Williamson... lol.

I'm guessing this will only interest semi-pro waster but it looks like Hearts are about to sign Michael Ngoo on loan. He's like a ****, young Peter Crouch.

Tell you what, how about you just arrange to send the entire youth team up - save all this messing about doing it piecemeal?

I'm going to assume the stars are to obscure "good" as otherwise the sentence appears to be a bit tautologous...

Unfortunately for you good wasn't the word.

Other than his size and the way neither make the most of their height, he's not that much like Crouch. Ngoo's just a bit odd; he's neither particularly skillful or quick but he somehow manages to go on mazey runs, finding himself in a great positions to score before he ****s it up.

I'm guessing those who are saying Sissoko is a great signing have used him on Fifa? He is certainly good on there, not sure anyone watched Ligue 1 on here?

Not me but I know a french guy who compiles stats or something. This is what he had to say about him

Sissoko, meanwhile, is a strong ******. He is the player I recommended for Everton as a replacement of Fellaini. No, he is not as dominant in air as Fellaini, I don't think any top player is now, but he offers a similar combination of technical qualities and physical strength, strong defensive game and ability to join the attack and score goals - a player who has played the lowest position in midfield as well as the highest. however, if with Fellaini the balance is more on the side of his physical attributes (although his technical skills are way underrated), with Sissoko they are on the technical side imo.

Will add goals, strength and height in the middle something Newcastle lack.

No disguised swearing. Thank you.

My Newcastle supporting mate (user to go to school with him) lives in France and he raves about him, it's useful for knowing how good they actually are.

I suspected it wasn't, still I'm hoping that in the SPL he'll find himself with a bit more time to think about it and not stuff it up.

I won't pretend I know anything about them, Gouffron's stats look pretty poor goals to game ratio mind.

He not ba replacement :/ looks like we have to wait till the summer for him. Yohan was comming to us in the summer on a free. Just we moved the move forward.

Was comming in as a squad player

I don't think I said he was Ba replacement.

If you want some with a poor scoring record you may as well just play Ameobi ;)

DM said that Everton will be signing 'one or two' players by the end of the window.

We haven't really been linked to anyone yet though, should be interesting to see who they are.

Thought you guys had been liked with Butland and Forren (though we signed Forren and Butland appears to be going to Liverpool).

Sounds a lot like N'Gog. Coincidence?

True but his ratio don't tell the whole story. He's a winger/fwd

He can fill in where needed.

No one saying he's top class but we have two senior strikers before he joined. Just a decent player. Better than egghead

De Gea's critics are 'idiots', blasts Fergie (surely he doesn't means you, Gary?)

Oh no, thats what he said about Veron,

before abandoning an extraordinary press conference by ordering the journalists to "get out" of the training ground.

"He [Veron] is a ******* great player" were his parting words. "And you're all ******* idiots."

Veron was then sold.
