Can't get Draxler, or buy a striker...... so bid for Kalou........... really Wenger, really?

We always get linked with him every transfer window. I bet its just his agent every time lol

Would be very surprised if we signed him ever...

Is Draxler definitely off then? I'm been too busy at work to keep up with the days transactions.

Apparently so. We might go for him again in the summer but Bayern were also sniffing around him and as much as Schalke don't want him to leave it's pretty much inevitable.

I actually don't think Kalou is awful, he's a winger and 7 goals in 21 starts in the french league isn't bad, he was better last year and his record at Chelsea isn't bad. You have to factor in that he both wasn't a consistent starter and subbed off a lot, for his starts, his stats aren't at all bad for either league.

But it's yet another case of consistently buying the same type of player, a kind of winger who kind of likes to play striker, and kind of has 15billion players capable of that at Arsenal.

Bendtner is way better than most people here give him credit for, and can't get a game, because Wenger doesn't rotate. Who is Kalou going to play instead of, not Ozil, AOC, Santi, Wilshere, Ramsey in not too long, quite a few others.

What a complete waste of a signing he'd be. Get another striker if you won't play Bendter, get another right or left back, we need cover, get another CB, we have 3 CB's, one constantly injured, stop pushing your luck.

85% of our performance this season has been luck with injuries, not because we've protected players, but luck. Two CB's not injured for the majority of the season at any club is rare, Verm is barely ever fit and beyond that the quality drops off a cliff. Really want to go for the title, get a damn CB, get a fullback for cover, get a striker you actually would use in situations other than an emergency.

A 58th winger/striker........ is the last thing the team needs. He just for the first year in 8 years slashed the wage bill getting rid of guys who won't ever get to play, so buy another one?

Kalou wouldn't be bad for rotation, on a cheap enough wage, but he's not even slightly what we need right now AND Wenger point blank refuses to rotate. IF he was 18-22 with more potential, he'd be for the future, Kalou is not.

Draxler covers the for the future angle, but he's still not what the team needs to win any title this year. Wenger ignoring the gaping holes in the squad again, as he did in summer....... because we got lucky with CB injuries for two years? We should not buy another CB because currently the luck is holding..... way to run a club Wenger.

What a rubbish deadline day, except for the struggling teams. The relegation battle is going to be intense!

Not sure why Wenger has gone after Kallstrom really, Arsenal have a pretty packed midfield even with an injury or two.

Ramsey might not be back for a while and as we have injuries on the flanks too so it has put us in a bit of bother. At first I thought it was a bit of a bizarre move, but to be honest I'm pretty pleased about it now, we could do with the cover and I imagine he's better than playing one of the kids there.

It's not a bad signing in that sense but you needed something that will give your team enough of a lift to get back above Man City, not sure he's it. This is Wenger's best shot at the title for ages so I'd have thought Kallstrom + a striker of substantial quality + Draxler would have been ideal.

Oh we definitely needed a striker to come in, Bendtner is a decent enough backup but we could have done with somebody who's a pure goalscorer. Too often are we caught without a plan B and I don't think Bendtner is drastically different from Giroud in what he offers the team.

I'm happy enough that we are keeping pace with the top teams in the league, all too often in recent seasons have we been nothing more than also-rans in the top 4, at least we're seriously challenging this season. That said I don't think we'll be able to win the league just yet, we don't quite have the depth but I'm hopeful for the next few seasons. There's no reason we can't have a good run at a cup this year though.

Interesting interview from Ross Mccormack that he just gave to sky sports there, regarding Mcdermott being sacked etc

This. There's no way we were going to jump from scraping 4th on the last day, to winning the league if teams like City played as well as they could considering the players they have. We'd have needed City's away form to have stayed iffy the whole season, but they've fixed it now from the looks of things. Never say never I suppose though, as long as we're up there at the end and make the right signings in the summer.

I just want comfortable CL qualification and ideally something out of the FA Cup where odd things can happen; if we can beat Liverpool then it's probably a one-off against Chelsea/City at a neutral venue where anything can happen. A fighting departure from the CL would be nice too (i.e. no getting thrashed lo).
