Lacina Traore on loan at West Ham supposedly? Odd club to go to, but WH are in desperate need of a striker.
 
The Fábio Coentrão rumours are hotting up again, we at least know he was a target and could well be available.

At this point I'd rather have him than not - but I don't think he's great. Would like to see him try and prove me wrong though.

We need to be looking at more than 1 player too, in this window. People keep saying it isn't ideal but I'll bet there are a lot of midfielders (for example) who can improve us who aren't necessarily playing at top clubs still in the Champions League, etc.
 
I think beyond his general not very goodness, which could arguably be different under a different manager if he was starting every game or feeling confident, his attitude stinks. Like Marcelo, Ramos, Pepe, he's one of these guys who will just randomly go and two footed tackle someone because he misplaced a pass or something. I think in this league the media focus and the ref's looking for it would probably get him a red every other game.

THe price they might want, or more importantly the wage he'd want would make him a very bad buy.

I would think you'd be hoping for central midfielders and nothing else. Yeah you can improve at left back, but midfield is where you are weakest.

In reality though, the less he spends, the more the next guy has to spend ;)
 
Central midfield should be a priority, but anywhere can be improved aside from strikers/keeper. It depends who is available and for what price, etc.

The club should have more than a few potential targets in mind for each position!

Rvp looked awful for the latter half of last year. All the best strikers in the EPL currently have something. A bit of pace. Why is Suarez or lukaku effective? They are good players but also not slow. Rvp has become captain slow. And with poor form on top he looks terrible.

All this about left backs. Said this last season but why can't we buy a first team right back who can play 40 games a season. I know someone people have a man crush for Rafael but he is far too injury prone
to consider a first team first choice rb.
