Not sure if it's been mentioned, but Everton are apparently close to signing Aiden McGeady on a pre-contract agreement. Not a bad player by any means, I wouldn't mind getting him in on a free.

From Beeb Sport:

Lille club president Michel Seydoux has warned off Premier League interest for Ivorian attacker Salomon Kalou, 28, by saying a £71m (87m euro) bid for him would "maybe" be considered.

:D

Ferdinand will likely retire.
Aye, with his injury record I'm not sure many top teams would take a punt on him, and I'm sure he's got enough interests outside of football to keep him occupied. Vidic would be a big loss though, especially as the younger centre backs they have seem very inconsistent.

Lita was brilliant...All of our strikers are fit except for no9Ashley Barnes, so we need to bring someone in to take the pressure off....two games later, we desperately need a goal, and we use two subs, neither being Lita, and after the game the manager says "he isn't match fit":o...surely that would be the minimum requirement from a 90 day loan?!

^I thought the same of Kebe, but from what I gather talking to Reading fans(played them on Sat), he isn't that popular.

We were in for Barnes too, but he's off to Burnley! Don't want him at all.

Why you selling him if no strikers?

Well, we only play one up front atm, and over the last 6 months, two of our strikers have been injured, so with Obika in now, we aren't gonna be that badly off when CMS is due back at the end of the month.

Ashley Barnes is a strange one. Constantly berated by a large section of Brighton fans, unfairly, as he always absolutely gave 100% in every single match, it is just that his absolute best didn't produce many goals(Barnes plays 24-odd games up on his own without a goal, but trying hard and playing well, Ulloa comes back from injury, and in his first game scores twice playing exactly the same role....it is like watching a completely different class of player tbh). He is a very hard-working player though. Be sad to see him go.

Also just read that we have rejected Sunderland's bid for Bridcutt. I hope we make Gus pay through the nose for a player that only last year he described as 'Good enough to play for Real Madrid'....

Seriously though, whilst last year our top priority all season was keeping hold of Bridcutt, most fans want to sell him now, so I hope a deal can be done with someone

Can tell u right now selling Lamella is a mistake, he is a 4-3-3 player and damn good on the wing. If he is asked to track back in a 4-4-2 he wont do it yet as he is still developing.

Outside of occasional Champions League games does anybody actually watch Juventus on here? Can't say it's a team I would particularly want to watch playing very often, but then that probably goes for most of the Italian league. :p

I support Juve so i watch a lot of him, he used to get forward a lot and be a real threat in a 4-3-3. When the formation changed to a 3-5-2 he was never te same player again who was box to box. Now he has lost his place due to Pogba emergence so when he plays he is more of a holding midfielder. He struggled for the last year or so but this season he has adapted to the role well and has improved. He is worth about €20 million if u ask me and in his best season Bayern Munich offered €60 million for him and Vidal.

I dont think Juve are stupid and will likely hold United to ransom for atleast €30million because of Fellaini. If he can find his previous form of 2011/12 he would be worth every penny imo. Can Moyes get the best out of him though? Probably not as he is a limited manager.

Im not convinced Vidic would be such a big loss - only because he is exactly like Rio 18 months ago and onwards in rarely being able to play a consistant run of games, and most other areas of the pitch arent so vital , but imo the back four (for playing attackers offside and just general communication between each other, inately knowing what anyone else is going to do in any situation) and the goalie have to be kept as consistant as possible across long runs of games to really put a good title race together.

(of course it can be done swapping and changing every other game, but it makes it a **** of a lot harder doing it that way).

Think Evans is a good 2nd centre half as long as he gets a really strong leader next to him (which if Vidic leaves , Utd would have to get in during the same transfer window). Smalling / Jones are reasonable stand-in's but one probably has to leave or Jones pushed permanently into CM if Keane is going to have a chance to come through, and imo he deserves a good chance without being held back by too many in front of him ( I only mention Keane because, Smalling/Jones while admittedly not getting that many chances at centre half, arent really developing quickly enough imo)

Rio could always head to US or AE / Russia if he wants to continue playing but imo he will probably end up in the media somewhere.
