Times change.

Our "wingers" aren't doing it anymore for us. We need goal scoring forwards. Giggs and Becks spoiled us.. Ronaldo showed us the way forward.. Now we have.....

Januzzi is gifted but he is still too young to rely on.

Just because we currently have bad wingers (apart from one who is just inexperienced, but still very good) doesnt mean the team should stop using them going forward.

The other issue is that IF it had been Klopp or Maureen who was the manager and after a time wanted to change the formation then there is potential for everyone else involved to support that change (even if a little unsure about it). If Moyes was to try it, I suspect there would be a mass uprising even more noisy than the Green and Gold after the Glazers appeared.

Why cant everyone leave Cabaye alone :(

Although I do admit that I doubt he will be with us much longer, but then if a big bid comes in then im happy to allow it to be accepted

Don't you guys need Remy money? Say goodbye to Cabaye if you want to keep Remy. He will fit in nicely at PSG.. they lack a player like Cabaye.

Mata and Cabaye to PSG? Ibra and Cavani getting assists all day long.

If Jose was manager, you would never see the likes of Young or Valencia again. He would do without them and play Kagawa and Felliani as ATM.

But there is no guarantee Ashley will reinvest that money into the team. I'm pretty both Arsenal an PSG have distanced themselves from him anyway. Neither club need him as much as we do, so no thanks.

If PSG do come in, which I doubt they will, straight swap for Verrati pls.

Yeah why not.

Lets completely change the way we play for a new formation to play players we don't have. All whilst going through the most turbulent time in 30 years.

Great idea.
You don't understand do you? You have the players for it. Actually, I think anybody knows that Kagawa behind the striker will do much more than Nani, Valencia and Young do. As others said, United have had some very good wingers, but I consider the main 3 they have now (excluding Giggs, because you can't consider him for a long term project) are 'good' at best. Welbeck ain't a real winger, although recently he has been playing better.

The only problem I can see is depth in midfield, but they already have that problem.

Also, you can get around 25M, if not more, for Nani, Valencia and Young.
442 is dead, no one plays 442 anymore. Fergie has made it work for many years but just barely.

A change in formation and play style is needed. Just copy what Chelsea, Arsenal and Man City are doing.. they all play the same formations.

We need a box to box midfielder. A new CB with credentials and possibly a new LB as Evra is leaving in the summer.

Exit door in the summer

Giggs (retire)
Valencia
Vidic (Barcelona?)
Evra
Young
Rio (retire)

Bring in the new UTD. Let Moyes mold his own team, as scary as that sounds, it is the only way forward.

Its not a 4-4-2. I do agree with you to a certain extent. The United team has a lot of deadwood that needs replacement. Its not all down to Moyes. Fergie worked miracles. Moyes doesn't. His team is close to dead. I agree with your transfers. Out with the old, in with the new. Let Moyes chose the spine of his team, and let him start from there.

Although he should have done this last year

Do you know why Young, Valencia and Nani don't play well behind the striker? Because they don't play behind the striker.

I understand exactly what you're saying and don't disagree with it per se, what I do disagree with is trying to do all that now, in the middle of a transitional period with a new manager. We also don't have the players to play that system either.

Kagawa behind the striker is great and what everyone keeps banging on about, what they seem to forget (or ignore) in most cases, is that Rooney is our #10. So were dropping Rooney now for Kagawa, or RvP so Rooney can play up front?

It's not as easy as just saying "Well City and Chelsea are playing that formation"

Have a look how much it cost them to play that formation. Also consider that when you watch City or Chelsea, they have no plan B if it's not working, do you know why?

No wingers.

You are never dumping Rooney. Play him behind the strikers with Kagawa.

Carrick - Fellaini - Cleverley
Rooney - Kagawa
RVP

Not a strong midfield though. Probably should be done in summer. But as I said, it should have been done last summer, or at least get a decent winger

I agree with Plan B, but if you really need, Push Welbeck, Kagawa and Januzaj on the wing (hopefully another AMC who is decent on the wing) just for that game, to add width. Obviously they are not as effective, but if the team send 10 players behind the wall, you need the width.

I don't know. It seems to me that Moyes wants to keep as much as possible unaltered. He signed just Fellaini, and is interested in players United were interested in before such as Baines.

I think he needs more time.

To achieve that we'd have to get £29m for Nani, £1m for Valencia and then pay someone £5m to take Young.

:D

Not a chance Valencia will go for anything over 5m. Don't see it.

Im sure we could get £10m+ from a middle table EPL team this summer for him (given the huge increase in tv money). Maybe even from a European team.

Does depend on what his wages are like though.

Even though its been denied, I have a suspicion we wont see RvP for a while yet - so there shouldnt be an issue with Rooney right up top with Kagawa behind him
