Pundit for Sky Germany....I remember seeing him score a wonder goal against us in the old division 2 iirc in about 1994...one of the first games I ever went to! I was only about 9, and I thought he was the best player ever:D

edit- think it might have been a cup game actually

Jones should only be in midfield as a last resort. Most defenders could probably fill in there (to his standard or better), he's not exactly good at it. We need to find out if he's got what it takes at centre back, I think he probably has when he finally plays there enough.

As for Rooney, I'd suspect us getting Mata could have some sort of effect on the Rooney situation but I'd much rather we kept Rooney if we can. If he were to go to Chelsea in the summer I wouldn't want to be paying £37m for Mata, he'd need to be a lot less.

I guess if we replaced him with Cavani it wouldn't be so bad. Can't see that one happening though.

Cavani is another Moyes-make-believe.

Assuming the quotes are accurate, Dante himself has said it hasn't happened "yet", which surely implies something is happening...!

I think Jan said it won't happen, and Nev said let us dream. He must rate him.

Jan also said that according to the Journalists following Bayern its nonsense.

Todays soap opera continues in the Telegraph:

Jose Mourinho will demand Juan Mata personally tells him that he wants to join Manchester United before pushing the green light on a £40million switch to Old Trafford.

Chelsea are prepared to consider a £40m bid from United for Mata, but the Spaniard must make his wish clear to Mourinho in order to force through a permanent move away from Stamford Bridge.

The final decision on whether to sell Mata is being left to Mourinho and he will only act once the player has approached him.

Atletico Madrid want to take Mata on loan with an option to buy the 25-year-old at the end of the season. Sending the player back to Spain would be preferable to Mourinho, particularly if Chelsea can secure first option on striker Diego Costa in return.

Mata is easily worth the 40m quoted, hes been consistantly one of the best players in the league now for years, and at only 25? If he is availabe then surely its a no brainer.

40m seems a lot tbh for a player that Chelsea don't seem to want.

I'd suggest to Gills replacement (the name i've forgotten) that he offers £6 million. No one will be insulted and it almost worked with fabregas.

Saw it on facebook. Made me laugh a bit.

Negotiations to take Juan Mata to Man United are under way, @GuillemBalague has confirmed on @revistadelaliga. It starts at 7pm SS2HD.

Not sure how he'd know that like.
