Everyone and his dog is linked with United at the moment, if we bought just 1% of the players linked we would have about 6 full squads of players.

I'll believe any signing when they are unveiled in a press conference and to the fans.

Where's the fun in that! :( :p

But I thought N'Zogbia was/is the best player in the world and answer to all MUFC's problems?

Who knew? It's amazing you don't remember me saying how bad a choice Moyes would be or how we needed a proper right back. But you can cling on to 2011 if you want. Tje season he scored 10 goals something Ashley Young hasn't done since 08/09...

statistically nzog is scoring more per game than young still. And nzog plays for villa who score no goals.

Dante story is gathering some pace now, Mirror have got some quotes: http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/footb...ster-united-interested-dante-transfer-3047368

The Bayern Munich defender was speaking to Fox Sports Brasil in his homeland when the broadcaster announced that he was close to an Old Trafford deal.

When asked if he had signed for David Moyes' men, the 30-year-old responded "not yet," but admitted that there is interest from the English champions.

"I'm thankful for the Manchester United interest, it will all be sorted out by the end of the month."

It's ON! :p

Unless the deal involves Rooney being sold to Chelsea for a predetermined price in the summer.

Mata is good, but he is not worth losing Rooney for!...though I realise that they may not have a choice but to lose Rooney if he really wants to go(...again). If Rooney does leave Utd, surely they would do their best to stop him going to Chelsea!

Dante would be a fantastic signing for us, him and Jones could be our CB pairing for the next few seasons.

It would be an impressive signing too, given how good he is and he's at arguably the strongest footballing side in the world at the moment.

Robbo - apply what you said earlier about Mata to Dante and you hit the nail on the head

Woodward to offer some un-realistically small fee for Dante lol

Chelsea have two choices in regards to Mata ( who probably needs much more regular football before the WC to get into the Spanish team)

1)Sell him to Man Utd for ~£40m and pay off most of their outstanding debt ready for the summer, when deals are probably going to sky rocket)

2) Sell abroad....more likely in the summer...for a considerable amount less (£25m?). Do Athletico actually need him, seems strange for a team thats doing so well already, to want to loan such a big star.....

Edit Dante according to bundesliga.com has started all but two of Bayern' s games this season in all comps so someone at the core of argably the best team in the world currently isnt going to jump ship to Man Utd....its just crazy unfortunately

That pairing would have the bonus of keeping Jones out of the midfield as well.

Jones should only be in midfield as a last resort. Most defenders could probably fill in there (to his standard or better), he's not exactly good at it. We need to find out if he's got what it takes at centre back, I think he probably has when he finally plays there enough.

As for Rooney, I'd suspect us getting Mata could have some sort of effect on the Rooney situation but I'd much rather we kept Rooney if we can. If he were to go to Chelsea in the summer I wouldn't want to be paying £37m for Mata, he'd need to be a lot less.

I guess if we replaced him with Cavani it wouldn't be so bad. Can't see that one happening though.

Gary Neville telling Jan Fjortoft the Dante Transfer will never happen on twitter.

Assuming the quotes are accurate, Dante himself has said it hasn't happened "yet", which surely implies something is happening...!

I think Jan said it won't happen, and Nev said let us dream. He must rate him.

Why are people getting excited over Nzogbia?
Surely, this is a significant downward step?

I realise that some Utd fans are desperate, but guys, we are not competing to get 5th or 6th place in the league. We want to win the league. Players like Nzogbia are not the right way to go.

We need to be keeping our best players (RVP, Rooney) and replacing the weaker players. Bringing in Nzogbia (or similar), will signal that Man Utd are no longer aiming to win the league.

As a rule of thumb: if the player isnt good enough to play for Arsenal, Man City or Chelsea, then he isnt good enough for Man Utd.

Mata is the only player who I am confident would make Utd stronger. Ironically, he is a player who is out of favour at Chelsea, but IMO, he is more than good enough to play for them.

Perhaps people in this country dont realise just how big Man Utd is. This is a huge club, which sits alongside Real Madrid, Barca, Bayern and Juventus. We have to stop thinking small and think like a club which aims to win the league and Champions league within the next few years.

Remember guys, who are the reigning Champions of the Premier League?
Yeah, you got that right!
Man UTD!!!
