I will be sad to see Mata leave, surprised he would go to United though as i thought PSG and Athletico Madrid were after him.

Do PSG actually need him, I dont think AM do considering how great they are doing this season - moving to Utd practically gaurentees as many games as he wants until the WC which is what he is after surely

Chelseas response should be :

"It'll be £35 million please... oh actually wait, you paid £28 million for that clown? Alright, it'll be £70 million please.

If only we hadn't wasted £28 on Fellaini!!

Wont make that much of a difference to be honest.

If Utd manage to get 2 or 3 players in Jan, and another 2 or 3 in summer that will be a fantastic couple of windows ( as long as they work out on the pitch obviousely)

Dont want to end up in a Spurs situation making wholesale changes in one window and then having no clue who your best team is for six months.

With the cash reportedly available plus anything that comes in from sales in the summer there should be more than enough available

No mention on multiple links Ive seen of any 3rd party being involved

BBC says:

United deny making an official offer, but an initial bid has been tabled through intermediaries acting on behalf of the Premier League champions.

I assume that's what Moses meant. Exactly what it means, I'm not sure. Perhaps we use some third party companies for negotiations and the financials of the deal, who knows.

I just saw that, I reckon its Man Utd gettiing lawyers in temporarily to close deals / discuss finer points

I can immagine a lot of big clubs have multiple teams of lawyers like this in different places / discussing different players without anyome officially there to sign off until last minute and these teams then head back to law practices at the end of each window

I doubt these types of personell are permanent employees all year round all for the sake of 1/4 of every year

Moyes wouldn't be handling the negotiations. The most likely explanation, if true, would be so Utd could deny it all if it doesn't come off or if you're a real cynic, Chelsea are doing all this to flush out interest from PSG etc.

Moyes not up to the task?

I doubt Fergie actually signed a contract for a player in all his years

May have done all the sweet talking etc, but the clubs wouldnt be in talks if that hadnt been done already

I think Man Utd would have denied it already if it was completely false due to huge damage potentially being caused by missing another huge signing

Good evening Mr WoodWood, I am African Prince. My late Father (who died) left me a large amount of gold and I need to deposit this into your bank account. If you give me just £40m I can place bid for Juan Mata with the Chelsea.

:D:D

Don't joke!

I cant help but think what this means for Rooney. Genuinely don't want to see him leave the club, especially so close to becoming arguably our greatest goal scorer.
