January Transfer Window

Jimmy Bullard might be back this weekend. Good news, and like a new signing.

Yep.

Shame about Anelka..think he'll drop a bit @ chelsea.

McBride is meant to be back soon @ fulham too.

Fulham are stuck for left wingers atm though. Bouazza dislocated shoulder during last game.

No doubt he'll be a good signing, but i dont think he'll make as much of an impact. However Drogba / Anelka paired could be scary.

£15m seems pretty reasonalbe to me, you have to remember the way the market has gone this season and that January is always expensive. With Bent cost £16m, £15m on Anelka's cheap.

I'd agree with Baz, considering Spurs paid £16M for Bent I think £15M for Anelka is a far better deal.

I bet he scores tommorow :p

Steep? It's ******* vertical!!

You sound like a Bottom fan, me too :)

Anelka always seemed happy at Bolton, it'll be interesting to see how he copes with the possibility of not being selected every game. He does seem to have sorted himself out a bit now, he plays with a much better attitude these days.

on that basis Anelka is a bargain :)

£15m for Anelka is a steal, although with the pressure he would have put on the owners at Bolton to let him leave they were never going to get much more than that.

Still... £7m profit for Bolton isn't a bad bit of business.

More than likely, both Real and PSG spent over £20m on him then City spent around £12m, £7m when he went to Turkey, £8m to Bolton and now £15m so that takes it over £82m

We only spent £1m on him!!!

He's a ****. Not as mush as Cashley, just a little bit of one. Good player, could have been great, his and Claude's fault and he knows it.

Can't see how Drogba can stay after what he's said, though saying that every season he comes out saying he's off to Milan etc and Sheva's just not very good any more. I think Anelka would score more than both Drogba and Sheva anyway.

Reds announce record profits

The financial results confirm United's leading position in world sport based on the team's on-field success, Old Trafford's expansion and increased sponsorship revenue.

The key factors in United's increased financial results are as follows:

- Group turnover increased 27% to £210m (2006 - £165m)

- Gross turnover (including sales from Nike merchandise and MUTV not consolidated in these results) rose 21% to £245m (2006 - £202m)

- EBITDA rose 72% to £79.8m (2006 - £46.3m)

- Profit before tax jumped 93% to £59.6m (2006 - £30.8m)

- Matchday revenue up 30% to £92.6m, (2006 - £71.3m) reflecting successful expansion of Old Trafford, increasing capacity to over 76,000

- Media revenue up 35% to £61.5m (2006 - £45.5m) due to semi-final appearance in the UEFA Champions League, finalists in the FA Cup and winning the Barclays Premier League

- Commercial revenues up 15% to £56.0m (2006 - £48.6m) due to the first year of the world record AIG shirt and accompanying financial services sponsorship deals, increase in the Nike contract and new platinum sponsors, Kumho Tires, Betfred and Hestiun

- Wages to turnover ratio fell to 43.6% (2006 - 51.6%) comfortably within the Club's historic aim to keep the figure around 50%

- Spending on Alex Ferguson's Whisky supplies rose 22% year on year, this is similar to recent annual increases and in line with expectations

- The Club continues to be the only one in the Premier League to disclose the total payments in the year to players' agents - a practice it believes to be something all clubs should adopt. In 2006/07, that figure was £2.1m (2006 - £1.8m).

- Independent research indicates that the Club has 333 million followers around the world with 139 million 'core' fans.

I think we should put a end to this and just buy the world tbh.

:p
