I'm not a massive fan of john terry, but you have to be very careful when labelling people racists as it has a certain negative stigma (more so than others), more so than any other "ist" buzz word.
Rap-ist?

For goodness sake, things are taken to the extreme sometimes! How much is this court case costing? Over reaction i call it.
Rap-ist?
I couldn't care if he did make a racist comment tbh. It's like most things, you say what will hurt the most to get the best reaction.
When was the last time someone got taken to court over calling someone "You ****ing Ginger ****". Hair colour and skin colour are equally not a choice by the said individual, but a remark about skin colour is deemed a worser insult.
Some of the quotes during all this have been so so good, eff knows how anyone in the courtroom would be able to go through the whole day without laughing.
Prosecutor: "Mr Terry, you are one of the game's superstars." Terry: "I wouldn't say superstar"
A modest man. LEADER.
My thoughts entirely.
The idea that abusing people over hair colour, weight, height, etc.. Is perfectly legal, while abusing people over one specific feature (their skin colour) is illegal. Seems utterly daft.
It is, can we now get 20,000 fans in the dock for calling rooney a fat *******.
oh yea, i suppose even the word '*******' is unfair as well, you cant choose if you are a ******* child or not ultimately...
i simply think that being offensive to one another is the crime really, being racially offensive is just one example. Is it actually racist, i thought he was english anyway, Anton...
This really does seem like a tragic waste of time. Ok if JT is found guilty he will get a fine equal to 2 and a half hours pay. Will the FA really through the book at him and give a long ban? Somehow I dont see it myself.
Awww bless.
I'm not making excuses at all. Heard of the old saying "sticks and stones may break my bones, but calling names won't hurt me?"
I'd like to know if this fella made the complaint himself or if someone else was offended on his behalf?
In this day and age where everything in life 'seems' a little harder; getting/maintaining a job, keepiing up mortgage repayments, staying healthy, keeping your kids out of trouble.
Should we really be making huge waves over a bit of name-calling?
I've had heated exchanges of words with people during sporting games, i've been called all sorts, some pretty personal, as i guess a lot of people have, but i can still laugh it off afterwards. It won't damage me in any way.
