Junior doctor strike: Union's pay demands unrealistic, says Steve Barclay

No, tax is way too high as it is. We need to cut spending otherwise higher taxes fuel high wage demands.

Realistically where do you cut spending?

- defence - would make us appear weaker to the likes of Russia
- health - would ultimately just lead to further deaths
- education - would ruin the future of lots of youngsters which undoubtedly will cause long term damage to the country
- police - would lead to further crime
- transport - people already moan about the state of roads, and big projects like HS2 have already had money wasted

I am not commenting on general Tories either way but it takes some serious mental gymnastics to think the current lot in right now are anything other than corrupt and inept imo . .. more so that at any other point in my life. yes Blair may be guilty of war crimes...... but honestly would any other party have been any different. we were the yanks lapdogs and they said jump so we did

Casually dismissing Blair's war crimes because Boris had cake on his birthday is the real mental gymnastics.

Let's not forget all the posters on here treating Krankie like some sort of saint only for the murder tent to appear in her front garden.

The current issues are due to the public running up the covid credit card and not wanting to pay the bill plus the nutter in Russia.

Unless you can explain exactly what Labour would have done differently with regard to covid or Ukraine then blaming the 'tories' is just lazy leftism.

Most of the poor families I know are poor due to shocking fiscal responsibility. An extra grand would just disappear on ready meals, beer and fags and their financial status would remain unchanged.
I didn't disagree that some people do bring it upon themselves. .. . but many don't . I am not sure what the answer is to those who squander money.... esp when they have kids whom are unable to help themselves.

but all I can say there is the money is still being spent in UK business at least.
maybe long term benefits should be paid out in food vouchers with limited use but that would be divisive as well

They can't, British are show how to point the finger but completely unable to put 2 and 2 together.

Always using phrases like stiff upper lip etc... to get the morons to accept crap.

Yes our wealth, who do you think created government wealth.
No it’s the way you phrased it that was strange, your wealth as in something that is outside of yourself, like you haven’t a vested interest. Didn’t you say that you was looking to get out of this country a while back?

I think they are doing an ok job with the Ukraine actually . we have done more than many afaik
I wasn't casually dismissing the Iraq war I was just admitting the fact that I believe the Tories would have done the same such was our relationship with the US at the time (I can't prove it of course just my opinion).
but for corruption I wasn't thinking about the lockdown breaches (far more than a bit of cake btw and you know it) but more the tax evasion, the duplicity, the money to dodgy companies rather than actual companies, and then lizz truss and kwasi kwartang was just the clinker on the .... sandwich. Sunak and Hunt are an improvement imo (despite me strongly disagreeing with Hunt on energy) but Christ it's such a low bar I think some on this forum would be an improvement.

note I have never considered myself left before, certainly never voted labour but imo the current crop need to go

Giving those on benefits vouchers is not the problem, the problem is the idea. You want to even further control that group.
You are falling into the trap again.

So a junior doctor earns around 30k, can a single person in London live on that these days? Earning 30k in Grimsby for example - decent flat for around 120k and easily a grand spare every month.

Yes, I am leaving this country, it can not be done over night, There are things I need to do first before I move.

Apparently you’re hard up on a 6 figure salary in London?

You did say this quite a while ago if I’m not mistaken. You seem to be quite invested in the uk in some ways yet not in others. Strange.
